"Amazing cottage in the beautiful gardens of the lovely owners."
Peacefull yet only a few minutes from the delightful towns of Salcombe and Kingsbridge.
A great place as a base for walking and sightseeing but take time to chill at the cottage and enjoy the peace.

The views from the upstairs lounge window are breathtaking, you can see right across the valley. Also the gardens are a real gem. Sarah and David are such brilliant hosts, always available to help.

"A wonderful, peaceful property, well-appointed and with everything we needed for a relaxing stay."
The grounds are delightful and despite the poor weather, were still a joy for us and the children to explore. Also, wonderful to meet the owners and share conversations with them, lovely people who struck the absolute perfect balance of being helpful and available if needed while not being at all intrusive.
The beds were extremely comfortable with nice linens and towels provided and a nice comfy sofa to settle down on in the evening, a great selection of toys, games, and books neatly stored and available which the children loved. Also really impressed to see simple supplies available like silver foil, bin bags, cleaners, washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets also provided - little things that make a difference!
A good sized kitchen and wonderful dining table made for easy cooking with pots, pans and utensils plentiful – I’m sure we could have had our own ‘Bake off Challenge’ using the equipment that was supplied!
Lovely clean bathrooms and certainly a fresh well-maintained property, the only very little thing of note was a few cobwebs, which really were not that bad, but could have easily been dusted away - they did not detract at all though from the overall high quality and standard of this beautiful Devon get away!
Thank you for having us!

"A lovely barn conversion tucked away down a very narrow lane, with passing places; thankfully we only ever met one vehicle during the whole week of our stay."
The cottage is well presented, clean, well equipped and cosy; alas the weather at the end of our week meant we spent more time in the cottage than out.
On arrival we were met by Sarah, the owner. Guests are free to wander around their lovely garden, which must look spectacular during the spring and summer.

"At a difficult time with so much uncertainty about Covid19 Hope Cottage and David and Sarah provided a small oasis of calm."
Due to the epidemic we felt it only fair to cut our stay short and return home early so as not to risk placing an undue burden on our hosts or the community. This was no reflection on the excellent hospitality or the cosy warm facilities offered by Sarah and David. A beautiful nook in a peaceful valley which we will thoroughly recommend.

Immaculate accommodation with a picture window over the Devon countryside which made it as much fun to be at home as to visit the fantastic sites around. The hosts are welcoming but not intrusive and all in all this must be one of the best holiday homes we have ever booked.

"Hope cottage was very nice, comfortable and peacful."
However, it could be cleaner, whilst not dirty it obviously has not had a good clean in a long time. Cobwebs around chair legs, grime around the sink and cooker. Bathrooms again not dirty on the surface but a bit grubby when inspected carefully. The duvet cover in the bedroom I used also had a couple of stains on it. I also think the fact that it is down a very narrow lane with nearly 1/2 mile with no passing place should be made a bit clearer in the literature. Whilst we were fortunate to only meet an on coming car once it was a bit disconcerting hoping for a clear run in everytime returning to the cottage.
