"We love our stays at foxgloves, it is truly a home form home."
Its an ideal location for any couple wanting to get away from it all and have a slice of peace and tranquility.
Yes it is a little remote, but it is well worth negotiating the country lanes to get to.
Alan and heather are fantastic hosts who will always go the extra mile if needed.
I highly recommend Fox gloves very highly and I always look forward to returning

"This holiday cottage is a little gem."
It was in fact larger than we expected.
Heather was so welcoming on the evening we arrived. The cottage was spotlessly clean and very welcoming, you can tell that much thought had gone into the design and soft furnishings. Everything that we could possibly need had been provided right down to dishwasher tablets and bathroom essentials, as well as wine and a box of chocolates.
We cannot wait to go back hopefully next year.
Very well situated not just for visiting Devon but also Cornwall. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

"Foxgloves was very clean, the only reason I didn’t give them the top rating was because there was a musty smell in the lounge."
I’m not sure if it was the sofa’s or the rugs.
The facilities were great but I felt the bathroom let it down so therefore unable to give them top marks. I don’t think it works as a wet room.
Dear Jean…We have stringent cleaning measures in place in Foxgloves where we carry out all the work ourselves to a very high standard therefore we are pleased you found the cottage “very clean”.
I sincerely apologise for any “musty smell” you found in the living room. We did not encounter it whilst cleaning the cottage after you left.
As all rugs and sofas are professionally cleaned before and during our season we can only assume it many have been caused by wet footwear on the door mat?
Due to the favourable comments you left in visitor book we had no idea you had experienced any problem and can only hope it did not spoil your holiday. Property Owner

The cottage was very clean and perfect for a couple wanting a peaceful location, yet not far from the main routes. An outdoor patio area, was great for relaxing with your preferred beverage after enjoying a day's exploring. The facilities that were available at the cottage, made it a home from home. "'Foxgloves' in the spring is an absolute delight!"
Set among banks of sweet primroses the accommodation is a spotless holiday let that offers far more than the photographs suggest. The spacious kitchen, separate utility room and two settees are a bonus. Due to Sykes' Coronavirus rules, a Welcome Pack was not available nevertheless, a delicious cream tea awaited us, accompanied by a box of Milk Tray chocolates.
Heather and Alan are just lovely, obliging and helpful, and very interesting to talk to. David and I meant to suggest to them that a few framed photographs of the barn before, during and after its conversion will be of interest to future visitors. Thank you for a fantastic holiday, and for 'pre-ordering' wall to wall sunshine on twelve days out of 14! Signed: Priscilla.

"This is a lovely cottage, with everything you could ever need (washing machine / dishwasher /etc), the owners were very welcoming but left us alone to do our own thing."
The cottage has wonderful views down to the river , and a very nice walk down the lane to Lopwell Dam, it is reached via some very narrow lanes but this adds to it's charm.
When we arrived the cottage was spotless.

with plenty of room for two people, including a lovely welcome pack."
There were two toilets. Plenty of space for parking. And beautiful views towards the river. And lovely walks by the river and Lopwell Dam, which is full of wildlife. A great place for photography. The cottage has high ceilings with roof windows giving plenty of light. A very comfortable cottage with nice friendly owners living next door. A real home from home.

"Absolutely superb."
This was our honeymoon and could not have been more perfect.
The hosts greeted us and maintained discreet contact during the two weeks and we left as friends.
Beautifully maintained premises, in a lovely area of Devon. Not the centre of the universe but ideal for two people to enjoy time out with so many things to do in Devon and Cornwall. Just five minutes from the Buckland Abbey, former home of Sr Francis Drake (NT).
Highly recommended.

"We had the most relaxing 2 weeks imaginable."
The peace, quiet and tranquillity of the location, setting and cottage are second to none. All of this and only a stone throw from some of the best tourist areas in the UK. Whether that be walking on Dartmoor, coastal paths or trips in to Plymouth and jaunts in to Cornwall. If you don’t fancy going too far out stay local and enjoy some of the smaller villages, there are a number of good eating establishment close by. A supermarket is only a 10 minute drive away for your bigger shop for when you need it.
The hosts were amazing and well practised at providing a quality service and establishment. Everything you think you need to take is provided so lighten your load and leave them at home. A lovely welcome/get you in basket was waiting on our arrival too so don’t worry about bringing sundries that could spoil on a long car journey down.
The biggest compliment I could give Foxgloves is we didn’t want to leave, 2 weeks quite simply wasn’t long enough. We will be back at some point and our return probably won’t be too long away.
Thank you for a wonderful stay.

"What a lovely cottage."
Heather and Alan were very warm and friendly, the homemade cream tea was welcome after our journey there. They had also made us a welcome basket of fresh juice, milk, crisps and biscuit, along with the fresh flowers cut from the garden which took pride of place on the lounge window ledge. You couldn't ask for more, after our first week at the cottage we were given fresh bedding and a lovely Victoria sponge cake. The cottage had everything we needed and was so clean and tidy. The garden was stunning and peaceful. The location was perfect, it was authentic Devon countryside but follow the windy roads for a few miles and there was central Plymouth! There is so much to see and do we can't wait to come back for another stay.

Whilst the hosts are exceptional and so so lovely they are so welcoming but do not intrude if privacy is what you prefer but if you wish to chat to them they are so lovely and very happy to do so.
Their grounds surrounding their own beautiful home is abound with beautiful flowers and plants and trees and you can walk around the garden and see Pheasants, Sheep in the filed next door and if you are lucky you may see a Peacock though it can be heard.
it was our second visit to this lovely property and we will be back again in the near future

It was furnished to a very high standard and very clean, but still warm and cosy. The location is wonderful, and Alan and Heather were extremely informative about the local area. The gardens were stunning and full of birds. I would have been happy to sit in the garden for the entire week. This is an ideal cottage for anyone who wants a truly relaxing away from it all break.
