“Very inadequate directions, resulting in 2 hours of local searching for the property.”
This was compounded by fact that there's a similar address in Washford. Approaching Washford on A39 from Bridgwater, Willow Grove, is not on the route to Roadworthy. Instead, Abbey Road is a left turn off the A39, just past Willow Grove on the right. The directions failed to mention that Abbey Road splits just North of Torre and you need to fork off to the right to get to Roadworthy. The directions failed to mention the distance to that fork or the distance from there to Roadworthy which would have gvien early warning that we were off-course.
The directions also said that the property would be on the left after The Crescent, i.e. on the opposite side of the road. In fact it is on the right.
On arrival, the welcome basket contained only 3 items and beside it was a vase containing just 2 or 3 three lavender stalks and one salvia stalk - which we found rather disappointingly frugal compared with our experience of other letting agencies.
Upstairs, the crumpled, slightly stained bottom sheet gave the impression of not having been changed since the previous occupants. The towels were clean but slightly damp as if they had been machine washed but not dried properly. No idea why there were scatter cushions on the bed, which we had to remove and find a storage space for in the tiny bedroom.
The cottage was otherwise clean and tidy. The sofa and arncheir were comfortable. The kitchen lacked kitchen scissors, e.g. for cutting packaging or bacon, and there was no fish-slice to get a fried egg out of the pan. The kitchen was otherwise adequtely provided with crockery and utensils. We liked the plates and bowls storage rack and the large double-sink.
The TV did not seem to match the description in the cottage's information ring-binder, which referred to it having an internal DVD player.
The location was very quiet, apart from the live band in the nearby pub on the Saturday night and the occasional boy-racer along the otherwise little used road at the front. If we had been there longer we might have wanted more, and more private, sitting out space, rather than a bench and a table behind our car on the car-parking space. However, we realised that this might be a problem from the information we had beforehand from you and on the internet.
