  • "Lovely quirky property in a quiet village, located close to all amenities."

River room was lovely. Enjoyed reading the history of the old post office in book provided. Beds super comfy and lovely bath. (Need to put the booster on or not enough hot water for a bath) would have been nice to have a fire in the lounge, even if electric, as a focal point. Also there were lots of cobwebs everywhere.

Your cottage had everything we needed and the village was so amazingly friendly. Our whippet enjoyed his stay too so thanks for making it pet friendly.

  • "We had a lovely stay, nice little village."

The shop & pub were very handy with friendly staff. The cottage was great with all its quirky features & decor & fully stocked with all the essentials . Super comfy beds & no outside noise, we slept like babies. A few snags, such as filling the bath, no big deal as the shower was there. The patio door locked was not working so we couldn’t make the best use of the riverside balcony, obviously there had been previous problems as a screwdriver was on the floor beside the door. The glass door could have had a wipe down as they were smeared with hand prints & smudges, there was also a broken guitar tucked behind the sofa in the living room. Would have been nice to have a welcome book to tell us about the house & things to do in the area. However the positives far outweigh the negatives & we had a very pleasant stay.

Hi. Thanks for your feedback. Apologies for the handle on patio door, it was working ok when I left it last time but is clearly broken, it’s being fixed this week As for smears on the door, it’s been pouring with rain every time I’ve been to the cottage to clean recently so haven’t seen it as glass has been wet. • "An absolutely lovely property."

We have a small dog (cavapoo) so prefer to holiday in the UK and stay in holiday let's as opposed to hotels. We have therefore stayed in many over the past few years mainly in the South West. This holiday home is by far the best we have stayed in. It was cozy, warm, well furnished and with comfortable beds. The owners have done a fabulous job of renovating this quirky property. The village is pretty, has a shop a few yards away and a local pub (The Valient Soldier) that does excellent meals. We would love to return to Roadwater.

Thank you for your kind comments Property Owner

  • "Loved the cottage renovated to a high standard situated in a lovely village."

One niggle was the hot water system .It took me two days to figure out how the Boost worked properly so we suffered lukewarm baths.A visitor guide book would be useful for this and for working the oven.Much appreciated were the three large size tv,s .Overall an excellent property and with guidance for the hot water would be five stars.

I’ve had ongoing issues with a noisy hot water system which is now solved. Settings were reset just before the guests arrived so I didn’t have chance to check the temperature. I did say to guests to text me with any issues or questions…. …..Having said that, thank you for your lovely comments and we will endeavour to provide guest information about the cottage Property Owner

  • "This is a beautiful cottage and well equipped with everything you need."

It is extremely cosy, the decking over the stream is fab. It is situated in a gorgeous little village with postcard cottages around. The hot water makes a horrendous noise when being used and runs out at times. This is the only criticism

The guest was made aware of the hot water noise, also it’s a small tank being a cosy cottage and she was also made aware how to boost the hot water too which only takes 30 mins to heat Property Owner

  • "Excellent property in a lovely village, with large rooms and plenty of facilities."

The new 'garden' room is a great addition, looking out over the river. Both the village pub and village shop are very handy and welcoming. Only feedback is perhaps some 'how-tos' such as the patio doors, the heating, recycling etc. Also, the parking spot at the front is quite tight, as a couple of neighbours pointed out that we should park as near to the wall as possible - and careful not to go to near the bump near the bins.

Thank you for your great feedback… I will be leaving some information for the house facilities in the next week for future guests Property Owner

  • "Lovely quirky cottage."

Not suitable for people with mobility issues as the stairs going up to bedrooms and bathroom are definitely only for the able bodied. Tastefully decorated and everything you need like a home from home. Comfy beds and TV in bedrooms. Peaceful village. Friendly folk, nearby shop for essentials. I would return. Lovely walks locally and pub which we didn't visit however has a good reputation. Lovely log fire in the country kitchen. All round a great place!!

  • "Lovely quirky cottage but a bit more attention needs to be given to cleaning."

There were cobwebs in corners and like most holiday lets, the oven could do with a good clean. The property has a lovely decked area but I found the bi-fold doors quite difficult to open (don't know if this was related to the hot weather?). These should be checked however as the deck is a great feature and the only access is through these doors. Great little shop two minutes walk away and great pub two minutes in the opposite direction!

Harsh about the cobwebs, they are cleaned before guests arrive but like the people who rent it, the spiders love it there too and don’t want to leave either Regarding the oven, it’s clean to use but like most popular holiday lets, there isn’t enough time to deep clean between each booking Property Owner

  • "We had a great stay at the ‘Old Bridge Post Office’ - it was big enough for 4 adults and a dog and that is before the ‘river room’ is available."

The location is great for exploring this part of Somerset or for the 2 of our party who completed the Coleridge Way. The local people were very friendly and the community shop and local pub are both excellent. Thank you so much for our lovely holiday, you have clearly been working very hard renovating this pretty cottage in a very pleasant part of Roadwater.

The one thing lacking is a garden (and we knew this in advance) but I understand that the owner has plans to create a patio area above the stream.
