“No lids for the saucepans Too much rain !”

    !

    !

Thank you for taking the time to complete your feedback following your recent stay at Lot Cottage. We have spoken to the owner who has told us the saucepan lids can be found in the cupboard where the saucepans are stored towards the back. Unfortunately Dartmoor weather can be unpredictable in the Autumn months, something we do not have any control over! - Sykes owner relations

The property

In the centre of the popular Dartmoor village of Lydford, this welcoming little cottage has been beautifully converted from a Devon stone barn.

It’s a super place for walkers, cyclists or anyone seeking peace and freedom, with a pub serving excellent food just 200 yards away, a lovely way to end a day exploring the stunning surrounding moorland.

The cottage is a smart gem for two, with the open-plan living/dining/kitchen laid out to take advantage of the space, oak floors and lofty beamed ceiling which soars to the apex, and a cosy wood burning stove for a romantic atmosphere on cooler evenings.

The comfortable double bedroom with its en suite shower-room is downstairs.

A little seating area outside is a lovely place to enjoy sunny evening drinks and a barbecue.

There is lots to explore around Lydford village, from the National Trust gorge with dramatic White Lady waterfall, a ruined medieval castle, tor-top church at Brentor, Cycle Route 27, riding stables and trout fishing in the River Lyd.

Roadford Lake, nine miles away, is a fine place for walking and water sports and the old market town of Tavistock is a fascinating place to wander.

Beaches on the north and south coast can be reached in about 25 miles.

Lot Cottage is a great place for couples to go adventuring or relax.
