  • "Lovely lodge ."

All clean and fresh.. no sun in evening nr the lodge. Only morning sun. No way can you walk into nearest villages due to steep hills. Be prepared to have to drive up and down 25% hills either way everyday. Pub at site more a restaurant. Serving tai food. Expensive. But had a takeaway that served us 4 ..2 days. Lovely food. Well worth it. Limited choices of beers / largers etc at pub and spirits expensive. Staff working on site very friendly and helpful. Beautiful site surrounded by trees. Great walks for dogs .

  • "This is a mixed review really."

On one hand there is everything that you could need for your stay and the kitchen is well appointed with plenty of equipment and utensils. The lovely welcome pack was really lovely and we very much appreciated it. Everything was very clean and the new bathroom very nice. Having access to Netlix and Prime Video was good to have too. But...there are issues that really do deserve to be addressed. The property is ageing and needs some care and tlc. Apart from very dated furnishings e.g. curtains, beds and sofas, the covering on the wardrobe doors and drawers is peeling away badly. The outside furniture needs touching up and maintaining. I had to email the housekeeper to inform them that 2 of the 4 chairs were badly broken. They must have been aware of the problem as there was old glue on one of the breaks in a poor repair job. I've never stayed in a property that requires you to pour a bucket of water down the toilet in order to flush it properly. Thank goodness a bucket was supplied! All in all that was the biggest bug bear of the place. It's such a shame as the property has the makings of a beautiful place to stay in wonderful surroundings. Kitchen and bathroom aside, the caravan appears tatty and cheap. Please don't think I am one of those people that likes to moan at any available opportunity, but am someone who feels the owner needs to put a little more money into the accommodation! Unfortunately, we wouldn't return until improvements are made, nor could we recommend the property to others.

  • "Toilet pressure unable to flush away !"

Men used toilet block. Previous holiday makers dirty underwear left in bottom drawer of double room oven filthy. Dogs hairs under cushions on settee. And in one of single beds. Want to point out that the actual sunny Lyn campsite is amazing and beautifully clean. Our cabin 2 little ducks is privately rented so cleaned privately too , needs to be addressed by owner. Not a reflection on sunny Lyn at all. Stunning place.

Both myself and our Housekeeper refute some of the claims in this review. As a lodge owner who lives in Guernsey, Channel Islands it is not possible to keep a constant watch on our property. However, as it happened in this instance, I was the next resident of Two Little Ducks after Mr. Pratt and his party. As usual on my arrival I found the lodge to be in its usual expected clean and tidy state. Being a dog owner myself I know that it is almost impossible to retrieve every single pet hair on every occasion and also am aware that hairs can travel into the most surprising places! On each of our Owner Visits I check that things are as I would expect to find them and once again found no hairs under cushions etc. ( We assume that Mr. Pratt and his party are not dog lovers, which begs the question, Why stay in Pet-Friendly Accommodation?). My Housekeeper says she found nothing in any of the bedroom drawers on changeover. (if this was the case why didn't Mr.Pratt contact her with his issues?), neither our cleaner or myself have found anything since. With reference to the Oven. It was definitely not filthy! Yes I agree that the rack shelves were not sparkling but the general state of the oven was clean and certainly fit to cook in. It is not always possible in a short changeover period to do a complete oven clean. Just a note to let you know that during my visit I undertook to do a proper rack clean. We have no problem with the toilet flush, it works perfectly. The shower (not mentioned) may be a little low on water pressure as it is not a power shower, but Mr. Pratt and his party had no rights to use the Camp Site's shower and toilet block. (we assume from his comments that any female members of the group were happy with our lodge's toilet facilities?) As he pointed out we are a privately owned cabin and nothing to do with the Site administration at all. " Further to other previous reviews: - "Criticism of the outside decking area was addressed by myself during my visit at my earliest "Post Covid" opportunity in July. The decking was cleaned, outdoor furniture cleaned and teak-oiled. All old "dead" plants removed and containers weeded plus 3 new planted troughs installed. The top of steps outdoor solar PIR light was replaced. All balustrades and rails plus part of the main lodge walls were rubbed down and coated with fresh wood stain treatment. Also the bird feeders were cleaned/replaced and refilled with fresh seed, to the delight of the local avian community!Inside the lodge, we had it painted and decorated and new carpets fitted in February. Following on from reports of a "dodgy" bathroom floor, after investigation we had remedial work done in July to make safe. We are currently trying to arrange a proper repair and refit. • "The location was nice and peaceful,we normally go to haven with our grandkids who are eight and fourteen and we thought it would be a bit quite for them but they loved it,the walks were great as were the the pubs and shops,we will definitely be looking at booking again,my only small gripe was the shower area in the bathroom could do with a bit of an update, but apart from that we were very happy with the accommodation and the cream tea and bird feeders were an added bonus."

Outside could do with a little tidying, pots full of dead plants and a little tidying of the decking ect is my only criticism. The inside was excellent.

Phoned help number only to be told to email them. Annoying as we had no wi fi to do that!! We found the lodge very clean but the decking area very scruffy. As the rain never stopped we did not use it but on a sunny day needs attention.

  • "The cabin itself was fine, very clean but basic."

Unfortunately the site was not as we had hoped. We booked expecting that we would be on a site where we could use the facilities. Under the circumstances we did not expect to use the club house because of Covid-19 restrictions, although your advert did state that we could. However on arrival we were a little early, half an hour, my husband needed to use the toilet after a long drive. He was told by the site supervisor that we could not use the toilets, which were sign posted, because they belonged to him and we were in the cabins which were privately owned and "not part of his site", even though we were on the site. We were told off for parking in the wrong spot on arrival, our parking bay had the cleaners van still in it. We were made to feel extremely unwelcome. Every time we walked though the camp we were watched in an unfriendly manor. For someone who works in the hospitality industry he was incredibly inhospitable. We will not be using this site again, we feel that this holiday has been miss sold to us as we had expected to use all amenities however even the basic use of site WC's was refused. The lady who cleaned the cabin however was incredibly kind and helpful to us.

  • "The lodge was very clean, and the location is beautiful."

The owners kindly leave bird food for visitors to place in feeders a few feet from the door. We greatly enjoyed watching the birds. The bed could do with a new mattress, as the springs are very prominent, but otherwise the accommodation is very comfortable. The heating thermostat is ridiculously close to the kitchen radiator, so always 'thinks' the property is warmer than it really is. The bedroom was cold unless the thermostat was turned up very high, at which time the kitchen was boiling hot.

  • "It was a perfect location for us - if possible we like to avoid using the car when on holiday."

Just a 15 min walk into Lynton along a dedicated footpath plus cliff railway to get down to Lynmouth. Lovely walks directly into Exmoor Forest from the site. Site was small and quiet. All we could hear was wildlife and the River Lyn cascading over rocks. Truly beautiful - even in the rain! Nice pub with Thai restaurant next door. Good eateries in Lynton. Lodge was warm, clran and comfortable - only issue to report is integral DVD player not working. No EE coverage on site but WIFI good so could connect to EE network via 'WIFI calling'. WhatsApp also an option. Cream Tea on arrival most welcome.

  • "Hi Just a few disappointments at two little ducks."

Our arrival instruction gave the entry time of 3pm. We were told by the cleaner it was 4pm and she had a big clean up to do. We were happy to wait till it was ready but found the site staff very unhelpful with regard to parking even suggesting we wait in town. After a six hour journey this was not ideal so we hovered till the cleaner left. The lodge was clean but the decking was not and there was a pile of bread chunks on the outside table and it generally looked tired. We did enjoy our holiday and are hoping to return in the Spring.

The layout and cleanliness was second to none. The scones, jam and clotted cream waiting in the fridge for us was a welcome surprise after our long journey. The site is very well maintained and an excellent base for exploring. The information folder was comprehensive and informative along with the leaflets of things to do and visit. Overall we had a great holiday just wished the weather had been kinder.
