The property

Enjoying breath-taking coastal views across Lynmouth Bay and the Bristol Channel is the outstanding Penthouse Channel View.

Enjoy exploring Exmoor's unique coastline and landscape and all that North Devon has to offer from this very comfortable home. The accommodation comprises: king-size master bedroom with small balcony and newly renovated luxury shower room (December 2019), twin bedroom (bed can be zip linked to a double on request), separate shower room, extremely well-equipped kitchen / diner with small balcony and a spacious upstairs living room.

The apartment can be accessed via stairs or lift.

There is ample parking on site, and a communal garden of approximately two acres. Both bedrooms have wall-mounted televisions, and the lounge has TV, DVD, Playstation and a large toy chest to entertain you.

WiFi throughout apartment.

Both bedrooms and the living room have uninterrupted coastal views. The famous writer CS Lewis is reported to have stayed in the building in 1925, and is quoted as saying the view from the balcony was 'beyond anything I have ever seen'. The property enjoys a quiet location, yet is walking distance to both Lynton and Lynmouth.

Lynton is a short stroll away and offers a variety of shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants as well as the famous Lynton & Lynmouth Cliff Railway, the world's highest and steepest fully water powered railway.

Lynton also boasts of being the smallest town in the UK to have a full-time cinema, seating 68 people at a time. Access to the South West Coast Path is within walking distance (Lynmouth & the Valley of the Rocks), and many guests at Penthouse Channel View have used it as a base to explore this trail, which incorporates two World Heritage Sites, five Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and one National Park within its 630 miles. Saunton Sands, Woolacombe and Croyde all offer large clean, sandy beaches, perfect for family summer days and can be reached by car in under 45 minutes. For families there is a wide range of National Trust walks and attractions, plenty of riding stables, Exmoor Zoo, Watermouth Theme Park, Lynton & Barnstaple steam railway and Combe Martin wildlife park within a short drive.

About the location

Ilfracombe 18 miles; Minehead 18 miles.

Lynton and its twin Lynmouth are nestled within Exmoor National Park on the North Devon coast. Lynton and Lynmouth enjoy one of the prettiest and most unspoilt coastal locations in England, offering breathtaking scenery and some of the best opportunities to admire the sheer rugged beauty of Exmoor’s coast and countryside. Great heritage, cosy fireside pubs, tasty local food and 'green’ credentials make North Devon an inspiring place to stay. There is a wealth of wildlife including magnificent red deer, the rare Exmoor pony, wild birds and rare butterflies. There are plenty of outdoor pursuits including horse riding, golf, walking, surfing and fly fishing on the beautiful Lyn river. Exmoor National Park is home to some of the darkest skies in the country so it's a great place to gaze at the stars. Lynton has a fabulous range of shops, pubs and cafes where you can wander between the picturesque cottages and meet the friendly locals. There are a number of attractions for the family including Exmoor Zoo, Lynmouth’s water-powered cliff railway, and the Owl and Hawk Centre. Experience one of England’s last remaining tranquil areas - there is something for everyone during a stay at Lynton and Lynmouth.
