"This barn conversion was a very welcoming place to stay."
Very rustic and homely. We had everything we needed. Jill the caretaker popped over from her bungalow to see how we were settling in, which was lovely. The views are truly breathtaking!
However, if you don't like driving through very narrow lanes then this property is definitely not for you, it is isolated.
Everything was fine, just a few little snags, not important really, the dishwasher door was wonky and the blue sofa was not comfortable at all.
Apart from that we had a fantastic time....its awe inspiring to go outside on a clear night and just look up, you'll never forget it. Because there is very little light pollution you have a fantastic display of stars, and I even saw part of the milky way!

"Widehay Barn is very comfortable with all the things you need and is a good conversion in a lovely location."
The kitchen has all the utensils and equipment you need, this is not always the case, the only addition to it is a knife sharpener.
Gill does a great job making sure everything is clean and ready for arrival, and has plenty of local knowledge.
There are a great many things to door in and around Exmoor and they nearby coast.
A great break for the family.

"The owner MR Duck is a very nice and pleasant man to talk to and made me and my family feel very welcome before we even arrived."
The house keeper Jill was a very nice lady and made us feel very welcome and here husband the gardener was a very nice and welcoming man to. Thank you to both of them they was very nice and welcoming people. The cottage where can I begin. The out side has lot’s of space and very kid friendly. The view around the property is very beautiful and secluded. The garden which is very clean and maintained. The cottage inside is very clean and wow looks very beautiful with everything you need. This a home from home. Has on sweet in every bed room shower, toilet , and sink. And a extra toilet sink and bath if you like a bath instead. The kitchen has a American stile fridge freezer and very good if you have a big family. I would definitely give this cottage 10 out 10 and highly recommend it to anyone and like me and my we love this place and look forward to book again. Thank you very much to MR Duck and the house keeper and gardener.

"Fantastic situation and views, near enough to town to get supplies but in country which was great."
Lovely scones, jam, clotted cream on arrival. Plenty of room for parking and great level garden for football for two grandsons!
As my husband has terminal cancer it was great to have quality time with daughter and family, all bedrooms had en suites which was a bonus, and it was near enough to home if we needed to cut short the holiday for any reason. A great break for me to! Loved it!

"The cottage was lovely."
beautiful location, lovely comfy beds with quality bedding. showers were great. The open plan living was great, top quality fixtures and fittings, cant fault it. There were however a few issues regarding the dogs. cottage was listed as dog friendly and we were charged £30 per dog for the week. but either side of the property gate were grass mounds that the dogs could climb letting them get to the outside gate. one of our dogs did get under the outer gate and onto the road infront of a car, luckily it saw her and slowed down. the second issue was when the caretakers ( I guess that's who they were) turned up unannounced on Thursday afternoon and proceeded to mow and strim the lawns. neither knocked at the door to ask if it was convenient, plus surely this should be done on changeover day between guests. When they left we noticed that they hadn't closed the outer gate leading to the main road... I assume they aren't aware that the garden isn't 100% dog proof. No excuse for not closing gates...

"Loved the quietness."
Cream tea left in the fridge for us. Wonderful facilities.
One suggestion- net the gate between the garden and the paddock. I could have relaxed a bit more then. We have a small dog and the cows were curious. Had he thought about it, he could have got through the gate and had a go at the cattle.
Also, what a comfortable bed! The bedding was very luxurious and feather filled. Which would absolutely delight some people. Luckily we had brought our own duvet because we are allergic to feathers but others might be caught out. Please make a prominent note about this on the website.
