  • "We booked Tor View very last minute and we're very pleased we had."

On arrival we were warmly welcomed by the host and it was a treat to find a Devonshire cream tea waiting for us in the cottage. The cottage was clean, comfortable and warm and with fantastic views and the situation couldn't have been better for us. Not only could we explore the immediate area of Oakhampton and Dartmoor, but with great access to the A30, the north and south coasts were easily within reach allowing us to visit Bude down to Port Issac, Plymouth through to St Austell and all places in between. We had some great walks. Thank you Kelvin and Sue, oh, and thanks for the fresh eggs from your ducks, they were lovely.

  • "We had a lovely stay in this cottage."

Very quiet location. Cottage had everything that we needed for our stay - ‘home away from home’. Ideal location for visiting our friend in Okehampton, but also just a short drive over the border into Cornwall too. Definitely somewhere that we will return to.

We will definitely be returning. Perfect area for exploring West Devon. Would highly recommend this cosy little cottage.

  • "We received a very warm welcome from our hosts, Kelvin and Sue and their lovely dog, Alfie."

The cottage is very pretty with a Victorian yet modern feel to it and the owners, who have not long taken over the cottages, have been working hard to make improvements such as a parking area and beautiful gardens full of colourful flowers. The views from the cottages are wonderful and as there is no light pollution the night sky is astounding.

  • "We had a lovely stay at Tor View, despite a wet week."

The house is very comfortable and homely, with a well equipped kitchen. The owners made us very welcome and provided some extra toys for our little one. The extensive collection of DVDs was also great for wet afternoons. The gardens are extensive and lovely, with great views across the valley. We found the location to be very convenient for visiting both the north and south coasts, and you are very close to Cornwall, as well as Devon. All in all, we would very much recommend a holiday here.

  • "Our stay and the cottage was absolutely magical."

The location is perfect with outstanding views and a rural feel yet only minutes from the town of Okehampton. Chickens and ducks wandering past the window was an entertaining treat, and the kindly provided eggs gave a welcoming touch. Not to mention the milk, jam, cream, scones and more! The choice of walks and visitor attractions nearby gave us more than enough to do. In the cottage we found everything we needed thoughtfully laid out to make it feel like home. The quality of everything was very high, comfy beds, good linen and plenty of towels. The adjoining games room was a very special extra providing a huge range of games and DVDs. The hosts were friendly, accomodating and went beyond the usual to make us feel welcome. We just can't thank them enough.

  • "There are so many great things about this cozy, welcoming cottage it's hard to know where to start."

Its central location is perfect for visiting all corners of Devon and only half hour from Cornwall. Meldon reservoir is within walking distance, leading to direct access to the moors and Yes Tor. The setting is peaceful and tranquil with beautiful flower gardens, free range chickens, wildlife and views of the moors opposite. There is a spectacular view of Yes Tor from the master bedroom and the big double bed is divine! The kitchen is spacious and well equipped, leading onto a private patio, dining area. There is a very generous welcome pack, including free range eggs, which we appreciated having arrived quite late. The owners have created a really welcoming and relaxing holiday home here and it's evident that a lot of care and thought have been given to ensure visitors' experience is perfect. Thank you.

  • "Was welcomed by Kelvin and Sue as we arrived lovely hosts, cream tea and extras in the cottage plus bits for our doggy."

Cottage was beautiful spotlessly clean. Towels and extras were left at the cottage all you need to start your holiday. The only thing I could fault was there was no wifi and on here it states there is. But you could understand why there wasn’t as set in a beautiful area. The A30 is just the other side of the trees in the garden so could be a bit noisy but not a problem. Kelvin went out of his way as hubby left his phone there and he sent back the next day for us registered post. Lovely hosts well worth a stay
