On a private lane just 250 yards from the centre of Mortehoe is this detached three storey 1930s house.
Boasting amazing views over Morte Point and the sea, it is brilliant accommodation for groups of family or friends to enjoy this lovely coastline.
Leave your coats and boots in the big hall, then head on through to the sitting room, a spacious and comfortable retreat where you can cosy up beside the wood burner or gaze out to sea from the big bay window.
The smart kitchen with its shiny units is a great place for six to eat informally around the central island whilst you take in the views of the coast through glass doors which fold open on fine days to the garden, or alternatively dine together around the big table in the dining room.
At the end of the day head on upstairs to a choice of four bedrooms on the first floor, three of them en suite, or the double bedroom under the eaves on the top floor.
Around the house is your enclosed garden with more sea views from one side when you relax on the sun terrace and perhaps fire up the barbecue.
Steps lead down to a lawn with a gate to a footpath.
On the other side of the house are two further patios and a lawn, so you can pick a sunny spot all day long.
For walkers, or even casual strollers, this is a great spot with footpaths from your door leading to the South West Coast Path which will give you spectacular views of the coast around Morte Point, including seal sightings sometimes.
In ten minutes you can climb down to private little Rockham Cove, an excellent spot for evening barbecues on the beach.
With all this around, plus pubs, cafes and a tea room in the village, you may not want to go further, but the fabulous beaches at Woolacombe, Saunton Sands and Croyde are perfect for surfing or bodyboarding, or you can tee off from the golf course at Saunton Sands.
The heather hills of Exmoor are within easy reach too.
With space for everyone and all this on your doorstep, Cotfield House is a wonderful, peaceful holiday destination.
