  • "Wonderful property."

Really clean and homely and everything we needed for a great week away. As described, easy to find and parking directly opposite the property. Loved the patio out the front of the house (despite the inclement weather!) Close to the centre of the village, so facilities in walking distance. Don't be put off by the stairs up to the house; two of the party are elderly but made it up and down with no issues. We will be back!

Thank you so much for that lovely feedback, we really appreciate you taking the time to do so. We are so pleased you had a lovely stay in beautiful Mortehoe despite the weather we hope to see you again some time. Property Owner

Had a lovely week in Mortehoe at Rockham Bay View was a well kept property with all you would need as if you were at home a short walk to post office cafe and 2 pubs and just a bus ride away to Woolacombe with all its facilities

Thank you very much for your feed back, it is appreciated you have taken the time to do it. It's good to know that the house has everything you would need when on holiday. It really is a beautiful part of the world that we enjoy exploring time and time again. We hope to see you again sometime. Property Owner

  • "We really loved the location and fell in love with Mortehoe."

It’s so well placed for amazing walks, trips to the pubs and takeaways. The convenience of the campsite shop up the road is also good. We were all really comfortable in the house from day one and by the middle of our break we’d booked again for next summer. The sunset view from the front patio was perfect as we ate our meals sat at the comfortable furniture. One thing we loved was the privacy of the property. We could sit as a family as the world went by, both inside and outside without people looking in on us.

Good pubs and fish and chip shop in the village. A stones throw away from beautiful walks along the coastal path. Cottage well kept and clean generally and well stocked. Even provided dishwasher tablets, tea and coffee! And a lovely surprise cream tea and pint of milk greeted us on arrival. Would definitely stay again. Jo very quick to respond to email queries and helpful. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Thank you very much for taking the time to give us feedback. Im so glad you enjoyed this beautiful part of North Devon and our cottage. We hope to see again some time. Property Owner

Also useful having the pint of milk. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to stay there again if we wish to do some more coastal walking.

Thank you very much for your comments. It's nice to know the cream tea is welcome. The coastal walks are really beautiful there and Rockham Bay View is a very convenient base to assess these without having to get the car out. We hope to see you again. Property Owner

  • "A beautiful cottage, tucked away in a very beautiful part of Devon, but on the doorstep of Woolacombe."

Perfectly equipped with everything you could need, lovely welcome scones and cream were a lovely touch :) Only one thing that I would add to the cottage is perhaps a lamp in the lounge area just to make it feel a little more cosy than having the main lights on especially when you have the log burner lit, but that is just a little thing which we felt would add to the ambience in the evening.

Thank you very much for your positive feedback. We agree the cottage is located in a beautiful part of North Devon. Yes a lamp would be a good idea in the lounge area particularly now guests are lighting the log burner. We hope to see you again sometime. Property Owner

More outside space than anticipated with a seating area at the front and it was great being at the end of the row of cottages which meant that we had more privacy. New sofas and a very well equipped kitchen.

Thank you very much for taking the time to make those lovely comments. It is a great position particulary when the sun is shining so the outside space at the front can be enjoyed. We hope to see you again sometime. Property Owner

  • "Lovely house, or even better suited: home."

You feel that the house is fully equipped like the owners would stay there themselves. Everything is super clean and of high quality. Nearby a lot of fine walks and views. Mortehoe is a quiet , agreable place with nice restaurants/take away/ tea room. The wide private parking place is a plus. We left the car unused during our stay, and enjoyed our walks to Woolacombe to go surfing and swimming. It is uphill returning, but we would make the choice for Mortehoe again!

Thank you very much for your lovely feedback, its so nice to hear that you found our house had everything you needed. You are right, Mortehoe is a lovely quiet place but close enough to all the coastal walks and beaches. We hope to see you again sometime. Property Owner

  • "We had a wonderful stay at Rockham Bay View a very lovely cottage with open plan kitchen living and dining areas."

The kitchen had everything you need. Plenty of cushions provided for outdoor furniture. Just 2 small things that would make everything perfect would be a king size bed in the main bedroom instead of the double and a hairdryer Otherwise we would highly recommend. Just bring your suitcase and chill.

Thank you very much for taking the time to write a review. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. Thank you for the suggestion of king size bed- we are actually looking into that this week. Good point about the hair dryer, I'll leave mine out for guest use. We hope to see you again sometime. Property Owner

  • "Great property, the steps up to it from the road weren’t a problem and the car park space was close enough."

On arrival we did question what we had booked, we noticed that the front windows were dirty (there had been storms, but the house keeper could have wiped them over) and the patio furniture was very rusty, but once inside things improved immensely. We very much enjoyed our stay. However, we found getting the temperature of the shower in the bathroom difficult to control and the wall bracket holding the shower head had one screw to hold it in place, so if you held the shower by hand the wall bracket would turn over. We also found the water temperature to the kitchen sink variable. After a short burst of hot water it quickly ran to like warm. A colander would be useful. None of the above particularly affected our stay, but worth noting all the same.

Thank you very much for your feedback it is very much appreciated. Yes, the windows took a battering in the storms and it seems there was sand in the rain sticking to them too, the window cleaner visits the property once a month and is due this coming week. The salty air has affected our front wrought iron furniture but this is in hand now the spring is coming. We will look into the water issue, this has never been a problem before so thank you for mentioning it. We are glad you enjoyed your stay in beautiful Mortehoe. Property Owner

  • "Firstly the steps were not described in your detail."

As people in their 70’s we found the 30 steps to the cottage very difficult. Second there were signs of mould on the coving at the foot of the stairs, and around the main bedroom window. Finally there were no toilet roll holders.

Thank you very much for your feedback. The details of the property were amended after you booked your stay with us, so unfortunately you wouldn't have seen them. We do hope this don't spoil your holiday to North Devon. We have visited the property recently our selves and dealt with the mould, thank you for letting us know. Property Owner
