  • "Lovely accommodation, pleasing, relaxing."

    Sofa etc would benefit from replacement springs, felt as if original spring had sprung! Appreciate Not owner responsibility but lane access, road in poor repair. Not a good first impression. However first entry , would benefit from house name being more visual on drive/ Lane point. Not an easy find, but well worth it in the end.

    We’ve reviewed your comments with the property owner, who was genuinely sorry to hear that the sofa didn’t meet your expectations. She mentioned she had checked in with you during your stay and wished this had been raised at the time so she could have tried to assist. Regarding directions, we do include the postcode, What3Words location, and detailed written instructions in our guest communications. There is signage both at the end of the track and at the property itself, so we believe the location is reasonably well signposted. As for the condition of the approach roads, these are managed by Devon Highways. While concerns have been raised previously, unfortunately this is outside the owner’s control. We appreciate your understanding on this matter. We are delighted that despite the points raised you enjoyed your stay. Property Owner

  • "Great cottage, very quiet,very dark at night and being rural best take a torch if arriving late, Okehampton was a typical small town but great for food shopping when self catering,Tavistock was great with it’s Tuesday to Saturday market and the Dukes cafe is highly recommended,driving is essential for places like Cornwall but Dartmoor is not far for walkers and cyclists,loved coming back after a day exploring Devon,research where you want to eat out as local pub food is basic but can be expensive for what you get, locals are super friendly and approachable if in doubt so that was nice, highly recommend Bunts Barn and owners live next door if you need anything and they are great people."

  • "'A little gem in Devon' A beautifully furnished barn in a peaceful, idyllic location."

    The cottage was furnished to a high standard and provided every 'home from home' comfort, especially the amazing beds - we slept so well!     It is situated in good spot to go and explore Devon, although we would recommend using SAT NAV rather than online maps such as Apple or Google maps because coverage is not 100%. Other than that we can’t recommend this place or the people enough

    Property was clean & had lots of stand out, interesting features. Appreciated the location being quiet, yet driveable to lots of sight seeing locations in all directions. Also enjoyed sitting outside listening to the gentle sound of the stream, the owl hooting at night & seeing far many more stars than we normally get to enjoy

  • "A lovely stay in a beautifully appointed barn."

    The facilities were perfect and the property was lovely to come back to each day after our explorations into Devon and Cornwall. Lyn and Clive are the perfect hosts, and were very responsive to any questions and queries we made. We couldn't recommend Bunts Barn highly enough, it was perfect. We will be back.

  • "Bunts Barn is a real home from home."

    It is situated in such a peaceful area with just the sound of the trickling stream and bird song. It is such a delightful place to wake up to each morning. It's really well appointed with all the kitchen accessories you could wish for. The bed is super comfortable and each of the bedrooms are a great size. The Smart TV is a real bonus for those lazy evenings in with the log burner lit it's a great place to be. We found the location absolutly perfect for us. There are so many places to visit, be it North Coast or South Coast within easy reach. We both really enjoyed our week here and will definitely be going back !!

Hatherleigh is an ancient market town consisting of cob and thatch cottages situated in the heart of rural Devon. Hatherleigh lies in the Torridge Valley just seven miles from the edge of the Dartmoor National Park, and is a wonderful central location for the coast to coast long distance trail, which includes the popular Tarka Trail. The town itself offers a varied selection of interesting craft shops, country inns and cafes. Within driving distance are Okehampton Castle, the beautiful RHS Rosemoor Gardens at Torrington, and even to the dramatic surfing beaches around Bude. Hatherleigh’s central position makes it an ideal location from which to explore this area of Devon.
