“Incredibly beautiful relaxing holiday”
We have just got back from a fantastic weeks holiday staying in Jaystone Lodge in the grounds of Bovey Castle. What a a wonderful place, and what a fantastic relaxing week we had. The lodge was stunning, extremely well equipped and with the most amazing views of the lake and the grounds of Bovey Castle. We took our two teenage boys and our dog. The boys loved the facilities - they made use of the enormous pool every day, and the sauna, steam room and gym. They played snooker in the hotel, boules, mini golf and croquet. We even persuaded them to go on a hike to the nearest town We walked our dog in the beautiful grounds- he chased squirrels and rabbits - and jumped into the fishing lake once looking for fish! The hotel staff were excellent and went out of their way to make our holiday special. Nothing was too much trouble - any request was dealt with immediately with a smile - from supplying more dishwasher tablets, or dropping off a bottle of milk when we'd run out. We ate mostly in Smiths Brasserie - the food was excellent and the service was friendly and professional, always with a smile. There are lots of different bar areas in the hotel, all of them equally comfortable. An absolutely beautiful place - I couldn't recommend it highly enough. It was wonderful, and we will definitely be back.
