  • "We enjoyed our stay at Folland house."

The property was lovely, easy to find using sat nav and very comfortable. Beautiful setting. The garden around the house is not enclosed which made things a bit more difficult with the dogs - would be a great improvement if the garden was enclosed as you do have your own very small garden area. There was a lovely field where you could take the dog for a walk by the property but it needed to be kept on the lead at all times due to the communal nature of the gardens with no fences. Owners live very near to the property and we’re friendly and helpful with anything we needed. Fabulous countryside views from the bedroom windows and the pool table was a huge hit with the kids. We did have to travel quite far everyday to go to the places we wanted to see, so the location was not great for us. We enjoyed our stay.

Thank you for the great feedback! The field/paddock has heavily pregnant sheep and lambs for some of the year hence the need to keep dogs on leads. Great suggestion regarding enclosing the garden which we’ll look at doing before the summer. Property Owner

  • "We had an amazing stay at Folland house ."

The house is equipped with everything you could possibly need. On arrival it was spotless and the grounds and surroundings are lovely. Our grandsons loved the little pond watching the wildlife in it and seeing the sheep, birds and rabbits in the fields. The bedrooms and beds were very comfortable and every room beautiful in its unique way. We will most definitely return

Thank you for the great feedback - welcome any time! Property Owner

  • "Lovely cottage with loads of space and we were 6 adults and 2 dogs."

Plenty of equipment in the kitchen - even an electric mixer so we could make whipped cream! The owners were attentive and helpful and we would be happy to stay again. Lots to see and do nearby and all within a short drive. Happy to walk the dogs on the lanes nearby first thing in the morning and locals all friendly.

It's a lovely complex in the quiet North Towton, just 15/20 minutes from Okehampton. Very comfortable accommodation in a lovely setting. Highly recommended.

  • "Folland House is a great base to explore North Devon and Cornwall."

Lots of attractions within an hours drive of the cottage, with Dartmoor only 20 mins away. The cottage is really spacious, with large living room, bedrooms and dining area. The snooker table was a superb feature and a hit with all the family. Melanie and Darren went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and had lots of covid procedures in place. Big thanks to the effort they have gone too. We would t hesitate coming back, especially with a larger group using adjacent cottages.

  • "We really enjoyed our stay in the cottage but unfortunately due to Covid we could not have the rest of our party join us and therefore not use the cottage to its full capacity."

The cottage was very well equipped and in a good location especially if you want to chill. We would suggest you would benefit from your own transport as there are not many footpaths for walks in the immediate vicinity. The cottage was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. If we had to make a suggestion it would be to replace the mattress in the main bedroom as it was uncomfortable and sunken in patches. Overall though a great place to stay

Thank you for the feedback about the mattress, this has now been replaced. Property Owner

  • "Had a lovely time at the cottage which was really well equipped with everything you could possibly need."

It is lovely and comfortable. Big enough so you have enough space for everyone. The pool table was a really good idea too. Had absolutely gorgeous weather which is a bonus. Only thing I would prefer is having an enclosed garden so our dog could roam free on her own. But that wouldn't stop us from staying here again.

  • "We had a great week at Folland House."

The owners were great, introduced themselves to us when we arrived and were very prompt to reply if we needed anything. The cottage is well set up and having a pint of milk in the fridge when we arrived was a nice touch. I would recommend this cottage to others and would go back again if we were going to this part of the Devon again

  • "We stayed for a week 9th to 16th August 2019."

It was a family holiday with 8 adults and 2 Small dogs, and we find that the cottage was more than adequate for all of is, without getting under each others feet. The lounge was very large and was really spacious for us all to meet up and play some of the games provided as well as play pool in the connecting room. The cottage was very clean and well thought out, we had several meals in and found that everything we needed was there, the comments were that it was just like cooking in your own kitchen. The village of North Tawton had excellent take away, spar supermarket and several dog friendly pubs. with many places to visit in the area this complex is an excellent place to stay, and we would go back any time.

  • "We all had a wonderful stay in this cottage."

Located in a beautiful and peaceful rural setting, the cottage was well situated for a relaxing break with our family and dogs. We had enjoyable walks in to North Tawton and If we felt like exploring further, it was within reach by car of a lot of places of interest within Devon, such as Dartmoor and Exmoor, both the North and South Devon coast and towns such as Okehampton. The cottage itself was very spacious and comfortable. It was most enjoyable to cook up a family dinner in the well equipped kitchen and the pool table in the games room was a real hit with everyone. We would definitely consider coming back to this place again.
