The Taw Valley provides lovely walks along the river banks, and the local long distance Tarka Trail follows in the footsteps of the character Tarka the Otter, from Henry Williamson’s famous novel. In Devon, you can always be assured of plenty of local produce shops, traditional pubs, and quaint villages with a slow pace of life, however, the more adventurous may wish to tackle the rugged and dramatic Dartmoor Tors nearby. The North Devon coastline is renowned for its long sandy beaches, ideal for safe bathing and surfing, whilst the historic cathedral city of Exeter is just a short drive away, with its cobbled streets, array of architecture, and interesting quayside area with cafés and antique shops. Just under a mile from North Tawton, this cottage is converted from a stone barn to provide spacious accommodation, with a beautiful solid ash staircase, exposed beams, and wooden floors throughout.
The large sitting room at this North Tawton cottage offers countryside views, and the adjacent games room has a quarter-size snooker table, a superb place for kids of all ages to practice their potting skills!
Enjoy relaxing in the spacious, private lawned gardens, the rear walled garden, and make use of the communal wildlife meadows extending to five acres.

The surrounding countryside is ideal for walking and cycling, with many pretty little villages dotted throughout the area, and several excellent coarse fishing lakes and rivers, quality golf courses, and a number of National Trust properties within easy reach. There are few better spots from which to experience the joys of beautiful Devon.
