“Great cottage, well provided and nice space for my wife and I and our boy (6).”

Location is near a fairly busy road but dont let this put you off you cannot hear this in the house, very well insulated, or on the sunny bench at the front. The location was nice at the Mill, properties near by are residential and people very friendly. Garden is nice but North facing and on the road side, but with Dartmoor so close and so many tors and walks near by we didnt miss it. Lastly the owners who live 20 mins away are really helpful and friendly, which made our stay superb. All in all, this is a great place to stay.

The property

North Tawton 0.5 miles.

This attractive cottage is part of a converted mill and is situated within its own enclosed gardens, amongst similar properties on the outskirts of North Tawton near Okehampton.

This cosy cottage makes an ideal base from which to explore the splendour of the Dartmoor Tors or the gentleness of Abbeyford Woods, which is fantastic for dog walks.

Inside the cottage is a contemporary open plan living area with a well-equipped kitchen, dining area and sitting area with a woodburner, as well as exposed oak beams.

The two spacious bedrooms share a bathroom and, for added flexibility, there is a ground floor cloakroom.

The living area opens onto a decked area, with steps leading down to an enclosed garden where dogs and children can play in safety on the lawn.

This lovely two-storey cottage overlooks open countryside and is a few minutes from both the Tarka Trail and Abbeyford Woods.

A short drive from the cottage is Okehampton where you can visit the castle and also venture into the Victorian shopping arcade for some retail therapy, together with visiting the many cafes and restaurants available.

The north and south Devon coastlines are only short drives from this countryside gem together with the cathedral city of Exeter, with its cobbled streets and architecture from medieval to modern day.

A fabulous cottage in the heart of Devon, where a warm welcome awaits.
