Enjoy a self-guided walking tour around the town, visiting Bayard's Cove Fort dating back to the 16th century, and continuing along the river to Dartmouth Castle, a 14th century fortress standing watch over the estuary, with some spectacular views to enjoy from here.

Back in the town the Royal Avenue Gardens provide a lovely spot for a picnic, while there are also plenty of eateries scattered along the streets to visit for excellent food, from cafés and delis, to restaurants and pubs, there's something for everyone.
