Well equipped with everything we needed. It's well located for easy access to M5 and all areas of interest in Somerset and Devon. Steve and Vicky are very friendly and excellent hosts, who couldn't do enough for us. We highly recommend this property.

  • "The Stable is a lovely cottage situated in the Blackdown Hills not far from Wellington."

We were looking for a quiet location away from crowds and it was perfect. We discovered some lovely walks in the surrounding area and were blessed with good weather. One day we ventured to the Quantocks and on another to Seaton near Lyme Regis. There are a number of National Trust properties within driving distance. The cottage is compact but very comfortable and the hosts are very friendly and welcoming.

  • "Vicky and Steve were so welcoming and gave useful information on places to walk."

The cottage was so light and airy and comfortable with quality furniture and contents. It was a treat to wake up in the morning with Alexa playing our requests and a haven to return to after a long day out. Spotlessly clean. The patio furniture provided was appreciated for sitting and having a drink under the oak tree looking out at the Blackdown Hills one way, the Quantocks the other direction.

  • "Accommodation at 'The Stable' was excellent."

It is centrally located in Somerset which we discovered is in a beautiful part of the Country with easy access to many of the towns and villages and other places of interest. All necessary facilities to enjoy a stress-free and comfortable stay were provided. The information pack was detailed and included suggestions for visiting the local area and recommended places to eat (which we happily utilised on a number of occasions). Steve and Vicky were exceptional hosts. They were keen to ensure our stay was both comfortable and memorable even within the limitations imposed by the current Covid-19 restrictions. However everything we needed was already in place. The property was impressively very clean. Set in very quiet and beautiful countryside. Perfect for what we wanted, a quiet week where we could isolate. Also felt very safe and secure.

  • "Received a really warm welcome from Steve."

He went through the facilities and how they worked and then left us to unpack. He spoke to us several times during our stay as he was outside when we were going out. The cottage was well thought out and had everything you needed. The only thing that could be improved was a little more storage space as we struggled to find spaces for the clothes we had taken and the kitchen lacked cupboard space for the food. The bed was comfy but we seemed to drift to the edge of it and felt that we were going to fall out as it seemed to slope down a little from the middle. We had a really good holiday and enjoyed all the facilities that Somerset offers.

Thank you for choosing to stay with us at The Stable, for your feedback and for the lovely comments that you wrote in our guest book. I'm delighted that you enjoyed your holiday at The Stable in Somerset and that you've said that you'd like to return. Thank you also for your constructive comments. With regards to the storage, this is the first time this point has been raised, but I will look to see if I can find a suitable chest of drawers to add to the existing hanging and drawer storage. I have also re-organised the contents of the kitchen cupboards to allow more space for guest's food. Regarding the bed, I'm sorry that you felt you might fall out! Beds are always a very individual, personal and subjective choice, and several of our previous visitors have commented on just how comfortable the bed is. However, we recognise the importance of a good night's sleep and we want all our guests to be comfortable, so we will test out the bed at the earliest opportunity and take whatever action is necessary. Thank you again for your feedback. Kind regards Vicky Property Owner

  • "The Stable is the best property we have ever stayed at."

All the fittings and fixings are of a very high quality, exceedingly clean, warm and a good shower. The sofa and bed are comfortable. The only down side of the holiday was the weather, more or less continuous rain for the four days we were there, its a good job the accommodation was so good. Our hosts Vicky and Steve were welcoming and attentive but not intrusive and polite enough to put up with me wittering on!! We have no reservations in recommending this property to any couple who want a restful short or weeklong break. If you want to travel further afield the M5 and A38 are 10 minutes away.
