Very clean and loved the additional extras provided on arrival. Will return. Third bedroom very small, not suitable for 2 adults. Main bathroom would benefit with handrail to aid getting out of shower for those less able Would appreciate tablespoons in kitchen to serve veg etc with.

The only issue we had was with the EV car charger not working with our vehicle but not the end of the world as we found a few charging places around Plymouth to go and top up at and we didn't use our car all that much anyway as a lot of places to walk to and catching the various ferries was a great way to explore the area.

The location and views from the balcony were as good as we had hoped if not better. The big difference about The View is that it feels like a home rather than a holiday let. It's really well furnished and comfortable and the kitchen is the best equipped we've come across. When you arrive, you quickly feel at home and relax into your holiday. The availability of an EV charge point was one reason we booked The View. This allowed us to make the 300-mile trip here and not have to worry about charging whilst on holiday.

It was in a great location by the waterside for watching the ships go by. With two ferries and and bus route to the city we only used the car on one day. The neighbours were very friendly as well. A very enjoyable holiday.

  • "We stayed Christmas week and enjoyed being able to relax in this very comfortable cosy townhouse."

There is everything you need and very clean, bed is very comfortable in main bedroom, only used the one bed as it was only two of us. Plenty of hot water and a very good handbook with lots of very useful information of places to go and shops etc and local information it’s well worth a read. Also good instructions for heating and recycling etc. We came away just to enjoy the peace and quiet. There is a lot of places to walk to around the harbour and the hoe. It’s right on a bus stop if you want to go further there’s no need to use your car. Royal William yard is not to be missed it’s very historic, you can wander around and get something to eat in the bars and restaurants. The views are amazing from the balcony and bedroom it’s literally a few yards to the waters edge. The complimentary hamper was absolutely amazing full of Christmas goodies and best we have ever seen. Our dog enjoyed his Christmas stocking left for him. Thank you Yve for making us feel so welcomed and “Christmassy”. Your home made blackberry gin was lovely. We would love to come back again and enjoy your lovely home. As we stayed over Christmas and it was very quiet we have not included activities that can be done in the warmer months but other people have included in their reviews for your info.

  • "This is the third year we have visited The View- and what a view!"

!!! Even if you did nothing but sit and look out you wouldn’t be bored at all the activity going on in front of your eyes. We like identifying the Naval ships that come past! However there are loads of places to eat in the Royal William Yard, there are ferries to Mount Edgecombe in Cornwall and the Barbican for shopping and Plymouth City Centre and the buses are regular too. There are also loads of places within a car drive- Looe has some lovely shops - and a large car park. This year we revisited the Bodmin Heritage Railway- who thought that was a good idea in 32 degrees of heat?- but we had a super day anyway. Can’t recommend this place highly enough.

Spotlessly clean, well equipped and in a very good location. We parked our cars on Saturday on arrival and didn’t get back into them again until we departed the following Saturday. We made a few trips on the ferry to Barbican and went to Plymouth Hoe and another trip over to Cornwall to visit Mount Edgcumbe and take a walk in the extensive grounds.

  • "What a lovely place with some great views across the marina and beyond to Cornwall."

It’s a stones throw from the ferry to Mt Edgcumbe and the Royal William Yard with all its restaurants and bars. We were lucky to have gorgeous weather and to sit on the balcony with a nice bottle of wine watching the sunset was just a perfect end to the day. The house is on three floors but with having a nice garden we spent quite a few days enjoying the view from there and the gorgeous smell coming from the jasmine shrubs dotted around the garden was lovely. The house is spotlessly clean and everything you will need for your stay is provided. Parking is the only issue but we parked one car in the drive and parked the other in Royal William yard for £10 per 24 hours. We tried to use the other car park just up from the house but it was all ways full, even first thing in the morning so I would recommend staying in royal William yard car park. Overall it was a great stay in a lovely house and I can definitely recommend staying here.

The location of the property is great next to the re-developed William Yard and the views over the harbour with the sun going down are just simply relaxing. Can’t fault the property it was spotless and with all the equipment you need with the added bonus of a electric car charging point in the garage. The location is good for a few days of not getting into you car buses into Plymouth and ferry to Cornwall all with a couple of minutes walk every 30 minutes. The ferry over to Cremyll followed by a walk to Cawsand is a great day out lovely views and some nice pubs.

Thank you for your lovely comments. I am really pleased to hear that you and your family had such a good time and that The View had everything you needed. As you say it's a great property in a fabulous location, the photos can only show a glimpse of what it's really like! I hope you're able to return one day. Property Owner

Beautiful property in a wonderful location. Although stated in the literature we hadn’t appreciated the difficulty in parking two cars. Fortunately the neighbours were very helpful in giving us one of their spaces! The only other thing is the stairs are steep and at an angle so care needs to be taken when carrying luggage up and down. Apart from these two aspects the accommodation is first class and I would highly recommend it.

Thank you for taking the time to complete your feedback. On the website we do state the following - "Off-road parking for two cars. Standard single garage with up and over door and electric car charging point". The lead photograph also clearly shows the allocated parking for the properties. We always advise that you contact us should you have any concerns or queries over the parking arrangements and the size of the vehicle you will be bringing with you. If you should need to bring more than two cars, again we advise that you speak with us first to discuss this and where alterative parking can be found for any additional vehicles. Property Owner

! This week we spotted HMS Tamar, HMS Echo and HMS Portland. It is also handy for the Torpoint ferry - for getting over to Cornwall. OK the weather wasn't as good this year as it was last year when we were there - but we still BBQed in the lovely courtyard garden- bliss.

Fantastic views. The car parking was disappointing. The garage , which is one of the spaces , is only for a very small car . This meant we had to find off site parking for one of the cars. Last year was our dream holiday to Australia and it was everything we hoped for and more!! This year we decided on Plymouth, I'm not sure I remember exactly why ....It was a little 'last minute' but we found this holiday home and something drew us to it. Oh what a fantastic find!!! Imagine awaking every single day to the sea breeze drifting through the window, climbing out of bed to be faced with that VIEW, I don't really think we could ever hope to do this place justice in words. We were a little concerned that after last years trip to Australia, anything else would be a let down. This was far from that, in fact I was amazed to find myself agreeing with my wife that it was comparable, you couldn't ask for a more perfect setting. We had only four out of seven days that were sunny and yet it didn't seem to matter, there is so much to see and do in Plymouth and we certainly chose the perfect base. The house itself looked good in the 'photo's but you are always a little wary that it won't be quite so good when you arrive, it was so nice to arrive and find it was even better than we were hoping for, lovely to find milk in the fridge along with tea, coffee and biscuits to welcome us. Overlooking the harbour and below the first floor balcony is a bench, every day that bench tells a story if you take five minutes each day. People stop to take a rest on their way to or from work, someone will be walking the dog and just take a few minutes to sit and enjoy the view, locals and holiday makers occasionally stop for a fifteen minute swim in the harbour boat owners row out to one of the many boats moored up and sail off into the distance. This was by far the busiest and yet most relaxing holidays we have had in many years, we are planning our next trip already and whilst it isn't the cheapest and we were tempted by other less expensive property's in the area, we were drawn to this one and are SO grateful that we went with our instincts. I'd never heard the word HYGGE before ......I think we found it.
