Very comfortable accommodation and views are stunning, Garden room is not on the same level of quality as the main building, Drainage in garden room is partially blocked, Overall very good experience and we wish to stay there again

Thank you for your feedback. An issue with drainage has not been flagged up before but we will be looking into it. - The Helpful Holidays Team Property Owner

  • "A wonderfully appointed house in a stunning situation."

The garden and its different areas are a real treat.

  • "We loved this property."

The house is spacious and beautiful and the kitchen contains everything you could possibly need (we even baked a birthday cake while we were there). The grounds are amazing and the pool is very welcoming, a wonderful place to stay. For us the one improvement would be to have either heavy curtains or black out blinds in the bedrooms as there is nothing to block out the light. This is a bit of an issue for the twin room overlooking the pool as the sun sets on that side and it becomes very hot even with the windows open. We had one travel blind with us but it wasn't big enough to cover the large window.

  • "Fabulous holiday - very well equipped and comfortable house and pool and easily accommodated our party of 13."

The view from the house is magnificent. A couple of points - the garden is magical but all on a slope and the walk to the sandy cove one mile away is not suitable for young children.

Grandkids were in the pool twice a day. Gas barbecue was a nice touch. Close to several beaches . None of us could fault anything. The nicest holiday we have had for years.

  • "This was an exceptionally good property."

The garden was enormous and the heated swimming pool was really nice, plus the games room was a nice touch too. All in all, 3 generations of our family had a very enjoyable time here.

  • "Ash Park was an absolutely beautiful house."

It’s full of light and space and the views are just incredible. We had a lovely time in the outdoor pool which was heated to the perfect temperature and our teenagers loved the table tennis and table football in the garage. The garden is spectacular with a fabulous array of plants and beautifully landscaped to make the best of the views. If we had one minor criticism it would be the upstairs showers which could do with updating but this didn’t spoil our enjoyment of this lovely place. Thank you.

  • "It is very misleading to advertise this property for 14 people ."

Ten adults is maximum. There are only 5 bedrooms and the dining room is only big enough for 10 chairs. We have stayed for many years in this property and we have great respect for how it is looked after. Sykes increased the rentall by almost 1,000 pounds this year which did not seem justifiable and consequently two of the June weeks were not booked. I suggest this amount could be reconsidered. We noticed small considerations, such as salt and pepper, dishwasher tablets, extra toilet rolls for emergencies etc., were not supplied and this information needs to be given to guests pre arrival. Ash Park is a beautiful and unique property in area of quietness and calm for all those people who want to leave the troubles of the times behind.

  • "I have just returned from a family holiday at Ash Park and what a stunning house ,with all the high-quality essentials you need for a wonderful holiday with breathtaking views from all rooms."

The garden is also fantastic but has loads of levels with steps which children need to take care on.The pool area is ideal for a dip and sunbathing with lots of sun loungers. The surrounding area around the house has loads of great walks leading from the front gate which are as long or short as you want to make them. East Pawle which is a short walk up hill has an excellent tea room, quirky pub, small general store and small antique shop. I can highly recommend Ash Park for a fantastic holiday - despite the typical long winding narrow Devon roads around the area leading to the house!

  • "Overall the whole family had a very enjoyable time in particular the pool and gardens were a delight especially for the 4 grandchildren and we all took advantage of these features due to the good weather during the majority of our stay."

Catering facilities were also good with plenty of equipment for both indoors and outdoors. There were a few minor matters which if attended to ( we left a small list in the suggestion book ) would make the experience even better.

  • "The house looked amazing on the website, but in reality it is even more spectacular!"

Every bedroom has a sea view, the beds are comfy with lovely linen. The grounds are vast and hide numerous seating areas where you can enjoy the view of the sea or the garden. The kitchen is well equipped and the utility room boasts 2 freezers and an extra fridge allowing food storage for all 14 of us. The utility room also has a washing machine and tumble drier to freshen up the pool towels provided. The large living room seaated our whole party and had panoramic views of the sea. The swimming pool was really warm and maintained throughout the week. There was a trunk of games and puzzles and a bookshelf of books. The babies were also provided for with a baby monitor, cot and high chair. The separate garden room was modern and perfect for our teenagers to have their own space. I really can't think of any critisisms. I would highly recommend this property but be prepared for very narrow lanes in this area and a steep rocky climb/ decent to and from the beach.

The pool was enjoyed by everyone and we had such beautiful weather. Although it is such a big house it seemed to wrap itself around us and was extreme;y welcoming. Everyone thought I was very clever to have found such a place and I have passed on details to lots of people. Thank you for making a special time more special. Look forward to coming again when I am 70!! Thank you to the owners, staff and Helpful Holidays. Best wishes Shirlewy

The property

In East Prawle is this stunning house within a big enclosed garden.

Just 350 yards from the good village pub, this is a fabulous place in a beautiful coastal area for families or groups of friends to enjoy.

Head up the entrance steps and across the verandah into the big light hall, and from here into the spacious drawing room with cosy gas fire and big picture windows where the views of the coast will make you catch your breath.

Off this room, you can relax in the sunroom and open the doors on a sunny day to a balcony and the outdoor pool.

Prepare family meals and eat informally in the lovely kitchen, or enjoy evening dinners around the mahogany table in the smart dining room.

A second sitting room is a fun place for the children with its TV and Xbox.

For anyone who prefers not to head upstairs to bed, there is a handy twin bedroom with great views and a balcony, which has a nearby shower room.

Up the wide stairs are three more bedrooms looking over the gardens and sea.

Follow steps down through the garden to a fun little garden room with a double and two single beds with an en suite and great views through French windows.

The garage has been converted to an entertaining games room where children can play table tennis, skittles and other games.

Outside is also the three acre garden, all magnificently designed with lawns, pond, rambling paths, terraces and seating areas, and of course the splendid outdoor swimming pool.

You may not want to venture beyond Ash Park with its comfort and privacy, but it is definitely worth venturing out on to the bridle path which leads from the garden to the Coast Path where you can stroll and admire amazing scenery and sea birds.

In a mile you can drop down to a little sandy cove, or there’s a huge choice of splendid beaches all around this area.

Salcombe and East Portlemouth are both fashionable and popular places to explore, shop and eat.

With all this on the doorstep, Ash Park is a very special house for a memorable holiday experience.
