  • "Very lovely cottage for a relaxing holiday."

We especially liked the picnic table where we enjoyed the wide view across to the hills. Sandra gave us advice on how to find the Meldon Viaduct on the Granite Way, after our own efforts failed! Okehampton was a central base for us, as we wanted to visit family members in the Exeter area, Totnes and Yelverton. Okehampton is a great town. We were impressed that it had a music shop. It can be found in the Arcade.

Thank you for your lovely review,Glad you had a great holiday, with lots of nice walks Property Owner

  • "It was fab-u-lous from the first cheery hello greeting to the last goodbye."

The welcome pack of food was very useful and much appreciated. The owner was very helpful but not at all intrusive, gave suggestions where we could go with access as i have restricted mobility, we used them too. The cottage was furnished to the highest standard and the wood burner was perfect for the chilly evenings. The decking outside was brilliant to catch the sun during the day and was built to catch it nearly all day. The kitchen and lounge were of good size and plenty large enough for two of us. Would very much love to go back in the autumn.

It is decorated / furnished to a high standard and has all of the facilities that you need. The property itself is close to some lovely walks across Dartmoor and local restaurants. Chris and Sandra are genuinely friendly and made us feel very welcome. We arrived late at night and they kindly provided a welcome pack of scones , Milk etc and ensured that Lily's Pad had a supply of everything that we needed which was much appreciated.

The road is too busy to try and walk.

Thank you very much for your feedback, we are pleased to read that you had a good holiday here. A great advantage of Lily's Pad is that it's easily accessible, however we'd agree that if visiting Okehampton that it's both easier and safer to drive. There's a map on the website to help you see the location. Property Owner

  • "Excellent property, very comfortable with ample space."

Situated just off main road so some traffic noise, mainly during the day, but this is balanced by such easy access to all points around Devon and into Cornwall. On the moor in minutes and with easy reach of the coast. Although adjacent to owner’s house there is no intrusion and very private. The other property on the site does not intrude, you cannot see it from Lily’s Pad. Highly recommend, came with a lovely cream tea!, and would stay again. Particularly suit those with an aversion to narrow Devon roads.

  • "Wonderful holiday in a beautiful barn style converted cottage."

Despite being on site with the owners still felt private. Beautiful gardens with amazing views and sunsets. There is another cottage due to be opened up soon so I would assume the garden would then be shared. Everything you need the owners have provided Including lots of little extras too and the cream tea and wine was a nice surprise. Missed the property initially on the road which is busy so look for the big pylon to locate it easily. Highly recommended.

It was warm, comfortable and very well equipped. We liked the wood burner. Nice welcoming cream tea and bottle of wine in the fridge. Hosts Sandra and Chris were friendly and gave us good suggestions for things to do. Good location for access to North Dartmoor. All in all a very good week, thanks.

A spotlessly clean, well equipped, & furnished cottage with some lovely homely touches. Not forgetting the amazing views of the surrounding countryside, together with the generous cream tea, flowers & wine on arrival & warm friendly owners, all contributed to a lovely week for us. Highly recommended.

  • "Its a wonderful place to stay, very relaxing, great for exploring the area for both coasts and countryside."

Great access for Dartmoor. Sandra and Chris were wonderful hosts, there if you needed them, but also gave you your privacy. Loved the Cream Tea and Wine. The first place to do this, given we have stayed in 2 separate cottages with yourselves before, a lovely touch and oh do i miss my cream tea's. But then I am biased as we come from the Okehampton area back visiting relatives and a 90th Birthday Party. We now live at the very top of Scotland, 754 miles. On a personal note having arrived and met Sandra we suddenly realised that we went School together in Chagford and Okehampton so had a great time catching up. I know this is not relevant but lovely for me. Having said all that I will definitely be booking this cottage again as it has been the best by far for location and convenience.

Nearby Okehampton is equipped with supermarkets and leisure activities and the beautiful moors can be walked or climbed . Its very cosy with a fab wood burner and has three lovely patio areas to sit and access to the owners’s large garden space adjacent to the home which is fab for families . The owners are very welcoming and provided a lovely Devon tea which was refreshing after a long drive . We found access to the south coast easier via the A30 but the North is more twisty with “Devonshire miles “ ! ☺️ A really enjoyable stay

  • "The accommodation was very good and spotlessly clean."

The owners were extremely helpful and friendly. Our only criticism is that it was if anything over furnished with ornaments. This meant there was little room to put things down. The listing does not emphasise the sheer size of the principle rooms or the large amount of fenced outside area available. The situation in rural Oakhampton is ideal for exploring north Dartmoor which has the high tors. We managed to scale Yes Tor etc. The route is easy and safe. We also visited mid Dartmoor and the north Cornish cast at Widemouth Bay. There is spectacular coastal walking and surfing if you like such things. A successful short break.

Welcomed personally by the owners who gave us information we needed about the property, re. controls where to find things etc. We also enjoyed freshly made scones and clotted cream along with wine that was kindly left for us. Chris and Sandra unobtrusive but available should we need anything. The setting is beautiful with gorgeous gardens, a lovely sunny decking to sit and enjoy an evening drink with amazing views. A beautiful lounge, well equipped kitchen and lovely comfortable beds. All in all a perfect place to stay in central Devon on the edge of Dartmoor.
