“A super little barn conversion, almost adjacent to the owners home but not overlooked.”
Plenty of space, more than it looks on the website. The owners were very friendly but did not intrude. The location is fantastic, with easy access to the high moors but also a good road network for travelling around and getting to shops etc. There isn’t really any outdoor space of your own but you are allowed to use the owners large garden.
There are a few niggles however. The property would really benefit from more cooking equipment as the pans etc. were small (including a tiny colander!). The fridge has a tendency to freeze it’s contents, even when we turned it down. The hob is a little old and it is trial and error to find out which ring you are using and whether it is hot or cold. I think because of the virus and the need to cook ‘at home’ more these issues were more pronounced than they would be normally.
The bedroom is spacious though the wardrobe is small and contains spare bedding, limiting space a little. The bed was fairly comfy but new pillows wouldn’t go amiss as they were a bit lumpy. The small bathroom under the eaves is en-suite and the shower is very good, powerful and hot. The bathroom is rather tired however and the shower cubicle itself is necessarily small. Lots of towels but I would suggest bringing your own face towel as they are a bit abrasive!
Overall, for us this was a great cottage at a good special offer price for July (£450 for a week) and the niggles were niggles rather than big problems.
