This terraced thatched cottage, dating from the 17th century and Grade II listed, is situated in the heart of the Devon village of South Zeal on the edge of Dartmoor.
Beautifully renovated, it is a welcoming base in a handsome old village for families or friends.
Steps take you up to the front door into a hall, off which the sitting room is a lovely room for relaxing beside the wood burner, watching TV and eating around the table which comfortably seats four people.
A breakfast table in the kitchen is a good place for spreading out the morning papers.
Two of the three upstairs bedrooms bring you interesting views of the village or moors and are accompanied by a family bathroom.
You can enjoy a variety of outdoor space, with a little lawn to the front, terrace at the back with picnic table and relaxing views to Dartmoor, and a charming wild garden across a little lane where you can play, chill out and doze in the sun.
With a choice of two village pubs, children’s playground and tennis courts, life in South Zeal is pretty fine, or you can venture a little further to Okehampton with its cinema, leisure centre and restaurants or the city amenities of Exeter.
Fast roads will whizz you to the huge sandy beach at Bude, 36 miles away, and of course there are miles of open space on Dartmoor just beyond the village to explore.
Bracondale is a charming base for a traditional Devon holiday.
