“I was extremely annoyed at the £45 booking fee charged on this property.”

I had to book by phone as the website wouldn't let me process the booking online.

I had to book by phone as the website wouldn't let me process the booking online. I am aware it was short notice but other properties have the booking fee built into the rental... On top of £20 insurance this added £65 to the rental . I only stayed 6 nights as I had to leave early but was still charged for 7 nights. Disappointed.

Trafalgar Lodge Cottages

These two romantic Sticklepath cottages are situated in the pretty Dartmoor village of Sticklepath. Both very different, yet as comfortable and welcoming as each other, one of these Dartmoor cottages is a characterful, detached barn conversion with high beamed ceilings, wooden floors, rustic-style furnishings and a woodburner, while the other is a bright and airy, self-contained apartment adjoining the owner’s home, set high on a grassy knoll overlooking the village. Both these Sticklepath holiday homes have an open plan living area, an en-suite bedroom, a private patio area and use of the owner’s large garden, and if booked together, guests can enjoy the differing delights that both of these Dartmoor cottages have to offer. Surrounded by stunning grounds awash with whispering pine trees, this is a wonderful place to relax, unwind and enjoy a gentle stroll to admire the magnificent views. Sticklepath is a pretty village with traditional country cottages lining the main street, a couple of pubs, a village shop and the renowned Finch Foundry (NT) which is open to visitors giving demonstrations of the fascinating 19th century water-powered forge in working order. Sticklepath is surrounded by ample opportunities for country pursuits including magnificent Dartmoor walks, cycling on the 30-mile Tarka Trail, pony trekking across the wilds of the moor and fishing on the local lakes. A short drive from this Sticklepath cottage will take you to a variety of visitor attractions including Dingles Steam Village and fairground museum, Castle Drogo (NT) dramatically situated above the River Teign, and the Museum of Dartmoor Life in the market town of Okehampton. These Sticklepath cottages make a fantastic base for exploring all this area has to offer and more.
