    “We had a very enjoyable holiday.”

    Unfortunately, we didn't realise the living/kitchen/sleeping facilities were all on upper floor but we coped with this. Sadly, two of the bedrooms had no wardrobes, only a few hangers on the wall. It was unusual as all the bedrooms were of a size that would take a wardrobe. However, this did not interfere with our overall enjoyment. The property is really lovely and had a fabulous garden which our grandson enjoyed very much. However, this did not interfere with our overall enjoyment. The property is really lovely and had a fabulous garden which our grandson enjoyed very much. The pond was a little hidden and although partly covered I did accidentally put my foot in this which was a little unpleasant and startling, I would have worried had we had small children. We all liked the open plan living and having two ensuite bathrooms and another bathroom were bonuses. We would certainly recommend the property to others.

The property

This detached cottage has been converted from a barn along a quiet lane within the village of Loddiswell.

With modern style combined with wood floors, pale hues and plenty of light, this is family-friendly accommodation.

From the lobby, head up the stairs to your open plan living space, all cosy and well equipped with a traditional wood burning stove and charming stable doors which open to your big garden.

There are four lovely bedrooms on this floor, all comfortable and spacious for restful nights.

Back on the ground floor, the children will love playing pool and on the games consoles in the games room, and there is useful storage space in the utility room for your beach stuff and bikes.

The large enclosed garden behind the cottage, looking across the churchyard, is a peaceful spot for running on the lawn, firing up the barbecue and spotting wildlife around the netted pond.

If fishing is your thing, there are lakes near Loddiswell where you can try your luck, or if you prefer being on the water there are plenty of places for launching a boat, which can be parked at the front of the cottage.

Bantham and Bigbury-on-Sea are brilliant for water sports and surfing, or for packing up the whole family with a picnic and buckets and spades and spending the whole day on the sand.

If you need some peace and quiet, there are lovely gardens to explore in this area, or simply enjoy the village with its friendly inn and shops for all your basics.

The Linhay is a convenient base at the heart of the South Hams with masses to explore all around.
