The property

This pretty, detached, thatched, Grade II listed cottage is situated in the heart of the Dartmoor village of Drewsteignton, beside the lovely churchyard.

With bags of charm and traditional features including cosy low ceilings and doorways and white walls, this is a charming base for families or couples to enjoy the Devon countryside.

The hall leads you through to the snug sitting room with its beams and open fire.

From here, you have the option of taking a few steps down to a quiet room with another TV.

The kitchen has a good old-fashioned Rayburn for cosiness, as well as a conventional cooker and the dining area.

Steep stairs head up to the two bedrooms, the double a romantic double-aspect room with lofty ceiling, plus a bathroom.

Your tiny little enclosed garden at the front with table and chairs on the patio is the perfect place to watch sleepy village life go by and enjoy morning coffee with the papers.

The village is surrounded by great footpaths for walking, mostly leading into the wooded River Teign valley where you may spot deer, salmon leaping and other wildlife.

The village itself offers a good food pub and friendly shop and there is another good pub nearby at Fingle Bridge.

The open expanses of Dartmoor invite you to explore on foot or by car or bike, or head to Exeter with its city amenities including theatres and restaurants.

Perfectly located for taking in spectacular countryside, Primrose Cottage is a homely and welcoming base.
