"Ayrmer House is a beautiful house in an outstanding location."
A feeling of calm and relaxation occurs as soon as you arrive. The views start as you drive up to the house and continue as you see the uninterrupted view to the sea from the huge windows. Great walks to Ayrmer cove and also onto Bigbury on sea. A visit to the pub the journeys end is always a must. This is our 4th stay at Ayrmer and I know it won't be our last.

"A top of the range cottage."
Beautifully furnished and with a view to die for looking out to sea through an isolated cove. A lovely 13th Century in the village and a well stocked general stores only 2 miles away. Bigbury on Sea is nearest beach and well provided with water sports, lifeguards and catering outlets. Access road to cottage through village is best suited to smaller cars as narrow road. However, a 5* property and a lovely owner living in the adjoining house.

Yes!
The view out of the living room window was very impressive and the pictures don't do it justice, weather was kind, wall to wall sunshine, local pub excellent. We had everything we needed, it was lovely to meet Ella the owner who lived adjacent, also her tin of treats and cold bottle was very welcome after an arduous Bank Holiday drive down. Tranquil, quiet, views to die for and a large house that met our needs, relaxing worry free holiday.

"Three generations stayed a week and it was perfect in every way including the weather, location, the accommodation, facilities and the welcome."
Husband and I stayed several years ago when it was a bed and breakfast but it works so well as a self catering holiday house. The view is outstanding and access to the beautiful cove is an easy 20 minute walk. We couldn’t fault the place.

Ella is the perfect host. The property has been redecorated since our last visit and feels lovely and fresh. Ayrmer is a very comfortable cottage with everything you need for a visit to South Devon. It is very spacious and the views are stunning.

"Gosh , where to start…a lovely 1960’s house with amazing views and an absolutely charming host, Emma, someone I’d love to spend a long lunch with to hear more about the history of Ringmore."
Ayrmer House is exceptionaly warm and cosy. The beds, pillows, linen are super comfortable. The kitchen is very well equiped. Location wise this is a great touring base to see all Devon has to offer. Equally if you need a quiet week to relax and unwind from city life, this is an absolutely fantastic spot. We parked up the car and enjoyed the fabulous coastal walks direct from the house over to Bigbury on Sea . The local pub, the Journey’s End, is a short stroll and serves really great food and drinks (do book for food though as it is very popular).

"We had a wonderful holiday at Ayrmer house, it is brilliantly situated close to the south west footpath, with glorious sea views from every window and on a footpath to a secluded cove where we swam everyday."
There is a convenient shop nearby and a really good pub in the village, I would advise pre booking. Everything you could need is available in the house which is light and airy and extremely comfortable. Ella the owner is helpful and friendly. I hope very much to return in the future and explore this area more from this lovely house.

"The 3pm check in time and the 9am check out time due to COVID is just ridiculous."
We effectively lost two days of our holiday. We actually left the evening before we were due to leave because we couldn’t face the thought of having to get up and out by 9am, especially with the additional asks to strip bedding etc. So we were not at all happy about that.
Thank you for your feedback. The owner of the property wants to be sure all the guests and her housekeeping team are safe during this time and structed a check in and check out time system to allow the property to be thoroughly clean. During your holiday there were still Government restrictions in place as well but since then they have been lifted. Because of this the new check out time is now 10 am but the check in time remains at 3pm

"We had a wonderful week at Ayrmer House."
The view from the house is just stunning - the huge windows downstairs allow you to enjoy the view to the full and having balconies outside every bedroom is a huge bonus. The owner (who lives downstairs) was extremely friendly and helpful - a lovely lady. Ayrmer Cove is about 1km away down a walking path and the beautiful beaches of Bigbury and Bantham are only a short drive away. We ate in the Journey's End (a stone's throw from Ayrmer House) and also the Pickwick arms in near by St Ann's Chapel and both were excellent. The only downside is the narrow country roads which can make for stressful driving but it was worth it!

"Ayrmer House is the perfect coastal hideaway, whether its warm and sunny or stormy and cold."
The house has everything you could need and is immaculately clean (vital for a relaxing holiday at the moment!)
The views are spectacular and the short walk to the cove is worth doing as many times as possible during your holiday.
The village is beautiful, and the Journeys End pub does excellent food (takeaway only until end of May 21).
The location is fantastic for exploring the coastal path, with lovely walks in all directions, particularly worth the 2 1/2 mile walk to Burgh Island and a pint at the Pilchard Inn. It's also a great base for exploring the local area with Kingsbridge and Salcombe easy drives away.
Can't recommend the property enough. I'm sure there are more 'luxury' properties but it is comfortable and welcoming, with views that cannot be beaten. Everything you could want from a Devon holiday.

"Ayrmer House is a fabulous, comfortable, welcoming place in the most spectacular setting."
Ella is a warm host, on hand with advice and recommendations if needed but leaves you to your holiday if you prefer. The extra cleaning measures in place due to the current situation were really reassuring and the place was immaculately.
The house itself has everything you could need and want, is beautifully decorated with amazing views no matter the weather. Warm and sunny enjoy the terrace and balcony, cold and stormy, watch it roll in in front of the woodburner.
This is the perfect place for a peaceful break with lots to do nearby if you want it. The walk to the cove is short and easy, perfect for a late afternoon stroll to watch the sun go down. There is quick access to the coastal path with great walks in all directions. The Journeys End pub in the village is excellent, with fabulous food (best to book) and a short drive away is the amazing Oyster Shack, a must for seafood fans.
We're already planning our visit in the spring, can't wait to be back in Ringmore.

"We’ve been to Aymer House before so we knew what to expect, which is a fine, well-equipped house with wonderful views in a great location."
We were made very welcome by Ella, who provided us with some delicious home-baked flapjacks, a bottle of wine and milk in the fridge. The Nespresso machine in the kitchen, complete with some coffee pods, was an added bonus.
The layout has been cleverly designed so that the spectacular view down the valley to the sea forms a backdrop to every room, which is what helps to make this house so unique. If you want a place to relax and unwind, they really don’t come much better than this.

"The house is situated in the most fantastic setting: surrounded by rolling countryside flowing down to beautiful Ayrmer Cove."
There are National Trust walks all around which include paths to the cove/beach, and onto the S.W. coastal path. The house has these stupendous views from EVERY room and has a massive balcony accessed by all 3 bedrooms, and there is also a private ground floor terrace to drink in more of the views, and sometimes to even hear the waves. The house is stylishly laid out- the owner has thought of everything, and whilst she lives in the adjoining annexe, the feeling of being in the house is one of total privacy. The welcoming owner is on hand if needed. The level of cleanliness throughout the spacious house is very high.
We would love to stay at Ayrmer House again in the future. I would describe staying at Ayrmer House, where it is situated in the beautiful Devon countryside, and so close to the sea as a real health tonic, and the ultimate wind-down holiday place to be!
