"From the moment we arrived it felt so right!"
! The house, accommodation, the Garden and the views were stunning We enjoyed so many walks with our dogs and got in some fishing at Ayrmer Cove. There were even apples to make a lovely crumble. The facilities were everything we wanted The weather was perfect- sunshine and hot. We were sad to leave after our week but have already booked up for next year. Can’t wait

"A superb and very peaceful holiday house."
This was our 10th visit to Ayrmer Path (no need to say more really) Waking up in the morning and being able to see the sea from your bed is unmissable. Great walking from the door along the coast path to Ayrmer Cove, Westcombe and the sandy beach at Bigbury on Sea (Burgh Island). We will be back soon

"A magical Christmas in this lovely house!"
Ayrmer Path is a beautiful, comfortable house with amazing views. It also had everything we needed to conjure Christmas for six of us - including a Christmas tree and lots of vegetable peelers! There were several early morning swims in the cove at the bottom of the path, plus carols in the local church, a nativity service in Modbury, surfing at Bantham and an afternoon at Bigbury-on-Sea. The downstairs bathroom was a godsend for my 85 year-old mother-in-law. We all loved it and would definitely book again.
Thank you for your lovely review Amanda. We are so glad you enjoyed it. Property Owner

"The house and location was absolutely wonderful."
We normally stay in ultra modern holiday homes so this was a pleasant change. Our 2 and a half year old granddaughter loved the gardens especially what she called the secret garden near the apple trees. We were blessed with wonderful weather which made the whole stay exceptional. I should imagine A Christmas stay would be marvellous.

"Great place, lovely house, even when the weather is damp."
-
"Fabulous location, property, and views."
House had everything we needed to relax and unwind and a huge garden for the boys to run around in.

"House is in an amazing location, comfy beds, lots of bathrooms, well equipped kitchen, great views from lounge and bedrooms, a magical place to spend Christmas and i can imagine would be great in the summer too !"
The only niggles were there was no cupboard space in the kitchen at all (had to use the window sills and half the work top) and the sofas and lounge chairs were very saggy.
Thank you very much for your feedback. I'm so pleased you liked the house and the location which is very special. We would be happy to welcome you back. I'm sorry you didn't find enough cupboard space in the kitchen. We are in the process of rearranging things and hope to free up some more space. We have also installed extra fridges in the utility room. The sofas and chairs are deep and comfortable, but we'll do our best to pump the cushions up a bit more. Property Owner

Yhis was our 2nd time at this property and we'll definitely go again.

"What a beautiful place."
Well looked after. Garden was stunning with daffodils, Primrose and friendly Pheasants. Views from every window took your breath away. Brought back lots of childhood memories. Thank you. The private gated drive was a really pleasant surprise and an added bonus.

"Fantastic place"

"It's a picture postcard cottage just like in the photos."
It's grounds are beautifully maintained and have unspoilt views to the sea with stunning sunsets in the garden. Being on the edge of Ringmore, there are no other properties nearby to spoil the view and Aymer cove and the local pub are only several minute walks away. The pub was fully booked for dinner for the whole week so book well in advance. We did manage to find a Chinese and Indian restaurant that delivered there, but the driver will probably need a google maps pin drop to find it. There are many tight country lanes to get to the cottage but this hidden gem is worth the trip. We did many day trips during our 7n stay so we got used to it. Trips to Salcombe, Dartmouth, Plymouth, Polperro, Paignton, Totnes, Hope Cove are all within an hours drive. Aymer cove, Bigbury bay, Challaborough bay are all within walking distance.

"Sykes were really easy to do business with, communication was clear and well timed, web site easy to navigate and the cottage at Aymer Path was an absolute dream."
Even the British weather was kind. A perfect break and home from home. Thank you!

"Fantastic property."
Particularly wonderful outside space with table and chairs and sea-view but such a sun trap that a parasol for the table would have been lovely to make use of. Very comfortable accommodation with a wonderful feel, so much so that........ we have already booked in for next year! Many thanks indeed.

"This is a beautiful house and the location and gardens are just perfect."
We were almost reluctant to leave it for various visits to the surrounding area

"Out 7th visit to Ayrmer Path since 2012 and little has changed I am pleased to say."
A lovely house sitting at the top of a valley that leads to Ayrmer Cove affording wonderful sea views. Even in poor weather sitting in the lounge watching the weather sweep up the valley is rewarding. There is a lovely large garden to relax in and there are numerous walks from the house incorporating several local secluded coves as well as the more popular beaches at Challaborough and Bigbury-on-Sea. There is really no reason to use the car at all unless you want to explore further afield. A lovely place and a superb holiday, we have already booked to return next year, can't wait.

About the location
RINGMORE
Bigbury-on-Sea 3 miles; Kingsbridge 7 miles; Salcombe 11 miles; Plymouth 15.5 miles.
Ringmore is a small village in Devon, in the South Devon AONB, one mile from the secluded beach and stunning cliffs of Bigbury Bay.
The Saxon church of All Hallows stands majestically over this quintessentially English village. Ringmore is a conservation village with thatched cottages, a peaceful rural pace of life & an award winning pub, the Journey's End Inn serving cask ales, local produce and a friendly welcome. A comprehensively stocked shop and Post Office is located in St Anne's Chapel, a short drive away and they are happy to deliver. Three different paths lead down to Ayrmer Cove from the village, and connect with the South West Coast Path. Footpaths lead to Challaborough Bay and to the golden sandy beaches of Bigbury-on-Sea, from which Burgh Island is reached by the famous Sea Tractor. Bigbury-on-Sea beach is ideal for family holidays. Everyone is sure to marvel at the huge expanse of sand, enjoy exploring the rock pools, or sample the varied watersports available to the more active visitors. If you want to try something different from the body boarding or surfing, then windsurfing and kite-surfing are gaining popularity here, with hire facilities located right on the beach. For peace of mind, there are lifeguards present at Bigbury-on-Sea’s Blue Flag beach from May to September, and a fabulous café specialising in selling organic and local food; whose surf ‘n’ turf is one of the best in the area. A few miles from Ringmore are plenty of delightful South Hams villages, coastal beauty spots and the traditional English market town of Kingbridge on the estuary.
Note: Pets are permitted in kitchen/utility room only.
