"What a lovely site, set in the countryside a short car ride from the wonderful Lyme Regis, Seaton and Beer."

We lived these three seaside towns and recommend them to wholeheartedly . The site itself was calm, relaxing and quiet. Having two pools was wonderful for the kids and a huge bonus of this site. The indoor pool is heated and warm while the outdoor pool is cold but refreshing on a hot day. The onsite staff are helpful and friendly adding to the relaxing vibe. The site is very clean and the cleaning company do a great job cleaning the rooms and windows. We will definitely be back to the Pinewood site and highly recommend it, however we would hire a different lodge to number 1 due to the small but significant issues mentioned below. Firstly, there are many positives to the lodge- it was clean with a well stocked kitchen. Small but cosy with a clean modern kitchen and bathroom. WiFi and large TV with a comfy sofa all appreciated. The lodges all look on at each other with a pleasant green area in the middle. So why only 3 out of 5 stars? Fo the simple reasons that the double mattress in the double bedroom is horrible, one of those soft, springy cheap types. To get a nights sleep my wife and I had to swap with our kids- they slept in the double and we slept in the more comfy single beds! Also the blinds in the bedrooms are these cheap looking paper ones. As mentioned by another reviewer they have holes in so it’s bright in the bedroom by 5am. Combine that with the mattress you can forget a sound nights sleep- hardly ideal when you’re on holiday and hiring the lodge for 5 days is hardly cheap either. So my suggestion to the owners for a 5 star rating would be change the double mattress for something half decent and get rid of those paper blinds in the bedrooms so a nice lie in on holiday isn’t out of the question! With a decent double mattress and better blinds I would 100% recommend this lodge. I notice that another reviewer pointed it his out too. Fingers crossed the owners do something about it.

    "We liked the lodge."

It was an ideal location for us. It was generally well equipped. Enjoyed using the indoor pool. Outdoor pool not working and unlikely to be available for some time as big holes around it. The blinds were very thin and not suitable for bedrooms. The are a number of tears in the blinds where the strings weave through them. No oven gloves. No welcome pack The cleaning before our arrival was basic. Lots of cobwebs and dusty.

so sorry about the cleaning we have now changed the cleaning team we have recently bought the lodge & was unaware of the blind situation thank you for pointing this out to us Property Owner

"I booked this for my 83 year old father when they arrived just before 4pm it hadn’t been cleaned and wet towels everywhere."

When I rang they showed up at 4pm and said they had forgotten to clean it . Also there was no welcome pack . I have already emailed to complain and had no response which is bad customer service .

sorry about your experience we have now changed the cleaning team so this shouldn't happen again Despite your problem I hope you enjoyed your stay Property Owner
