The property

This reverse level cottage is situated in a terrace of cottages converted from Grade II listed barns in countryside a mile from Noss Mayo.

Just half a mile from the cove beach and Coast Path at Stoke and facing south, this is sunny accommodation for families to have fun and enjoy the excellent coastline.

Head up the steps and leave your coats and boots in the hall before taking the stairs up into the spacious open plan living space where you can snuggle up beside the electric fire or enjoy meals prepared in the well equipped kitchen.

You will find the three bedrooms downstairs, all cosy and comfy and sharing a good family bathroom.

Outside you can sit out in your own seating area, or children will love making friends and running free in the 1½ acre shared garden with picnic table and barbecue and playing table tennis and darts in the games room, whilst the grown ups play tennis on the hard court.

Head out with buckets and spades and nets to a choice of beaches in the area, from Wembury with its rock pools to private Mothecombe which has starred in films including International Velvet.

For walkers, there are countryside footpaths and lovely views too from the iconic South West Coast Path.

The riverside pubs in Newton Ferrers and Noss Mayo are lovely to sit outside with a pint or a snack.

With all the peace and activities you could wish for in this lovely region of Devon, Kestrel Cottage is a lovely family base.

About the location

NOSS MAYO

Newton Ferrers 1 mile; Plymouth 10 miles

The tiny, pretty village of Noss Mayo is hidden away on the southern bank of the Yealm Estuary and is home to two good pubs. Across the water is the larger village of Newton Ferrers, and you can get between the two villages by a causeway at low tide and a seasonal ferry that operates a triangular route and calls in at the SW Coastal Path, Noss Mayo and Newton Ferrers. Newton Ferrers has a local butcher, chemist and Post Office. The village pub has fantastic views across the water towards Noss Mayo and the creek. The area is blessed with many walks that meander along the waterside and across the fields, while to the north Dartmoor's high tors and open spaces beckon those who love wild country. The city of Plymouth with its shops, Marine Aquarium and Barbican quayside area is just 10 miles away.
