The property

Situated on Rowden Court, on a complex of 12 barn conversions, is Swift Cottage, a charming terraced property in the village of Noss Mayo, in the South Hams area of Devon.

Within the South Devon AONB, with a host of fantastic beaches close by, as well as being within easy reach of the city of Plymouth and the Dartmoor National Park, this property is ideal for a family or group wanting to discover the coastline and magnificent countryside of Devon.

Enter the property and head into the kitchen/diner, with a large dining table that can comfortably seat the whole group, while he contemporary, well-equipped kitchen has all the mod cons you could need to prepare delicious home-cooked meals.

After an evening meal, wander into the sitting room to relax on one of the sofas, admiring the communal garden views from the dual aspect windows, grabbing a book from one of the book shelves, or watching a family film on the Smart TV, while the heat from the electric fire warms up the room and adds a cosy feel.

There is a handy cloakroom with basin and WC on this level, while upstairs you will find a family bathroom with a shower over bath, along with four spacious bedrooms, all with character wooden beams, pretty garden views and ample storage space, with two doubles and two singles to choose from.

Outside there is a front terrace as well as communal lawned gardens, and you also have access to on-site facilities such as a tennis court and games room.

Noss Mayo is tucked away on the banks of the Yealm Estuary and is blessed with pretty coastal and countryside walks with the South West Coast Path less than a mile away from the cottage, allowing you to discover more of the South Devon AONB.

There are two stunning beaches within a few miles' radius, as well as two wonderful riverside pubs serving food, while across Newton creek is the village of Newton Ferrers, which offers a Post Office, pharmacy, grocery store and a butchers, and can be accessed on foot at low tide via causeways or you can hop on the ferry, which can also take you to Wembury.

Head east along the South West Coast Path and discover the idyllic harbour town of Salcombe, built on the steep west side of the Kingsbridge Estuary, with its picturesque North and South Sands beaches, Maritime Museum, castle of Fort Charles, the early 20th century Edwardian property Overbeck's,filled with fascinating art and history collections, and of course you can enjoy strolls around the lovely harbour or hop on a boat towards East Portlemouth, where you will find yet more glorious sandy beaches, including the National Trust's Mill Bay.

Explore the magnificent Devonshire countryside by heading into the Dartmoor National Park, which offers hundreds of kilometres of walking and cycling routes through grassland, forests, wetlands and tors, taking in sites such as the National Trust's Buckland Abbey, the 20th century medieval Castle Drogo, as well as quaint villages and historic artefacts.

Swift Cottage is a wonderful base for a holiday discovering South Devon.

The charming creek side village of Noss Mayo is hidden away on the banks of the beautiful Yealm Estuary. The area is blessed with many coastal and countryside walks. Local beaches, Stoke and Cellars are just a three-quarters of a mile walk. The village is home to two excellent waterside pubs with river views, both of which offer superb meals using the best of local produce.
Across the water, the village of Newton Ferrers, which has a local butcher, chemist, Post Office and general grocery store, may be reached on foot via causeways at low tide. A seasonal ferry also operates between Noss Mayo, Newton Ferrers and the SW coastal path to Wembury. The surrounding South Hams area is well known for its award-winning, sandy beaches and also for the breath-taking beauty of the Dartmoor National Park. All are all within easy reach, as are interesting towns and villages such as Totnes, Salcombe, Dartington and Modbury. The city of Plymouth with its shops, Marine Aquarium and Barbican quayside area is just 10 miles away.
