"The location was great, only 5 minute walk to the centre."
The building is a beautiful victorian 3 storey structure, and this letting is for the complete ground floor including the garden. It oozed character with beautifully high ceilings, period joinery and doors. Whilst some may conclude internally the decor is a little tired, we loved our 1 week stay. The master bedroom was enormous with a comfortable king size bed and lovely clean and modern on-suite bathroom. The 2nd bedroom is a large double and the 3rd is an enormous 2 x large bunkbeds. We spent a lot of time in the large conservatory with double doors onto the garden. Our 2 dogs were extremely comfortable in the new surroundings. The rental cost was reasonable and good value compared to a 1 week stay in a much smaller property earlier in the year, which was a fraction of the size. All in all, a lovely property and good value for money.

"The property was very well situated."
Upon entry there was a strong damp odour.It had good quality bathroom amenities although only one shower which had a mould issue on the sealant at the base of the shower tray.The paved area to the rear of the property was dangerous to walk on.The garden was not secure for our dog or young children .The kitchen pans were not in great condition we bought a replacement frying pan to use.The sofas in the living room were not comfortable due to wear. One sofa had an ink stain to the seat cushion These issues would not cost a lot to remedy and would add value to the property.I feel weve been ripped off and would not stay here again.

A very comfortable property with good facilities. The property suffers from damp, particular in the bunk bedroom, and needs repairs, eg to the stiflingly hot conservatory. These comments aside we really enjoyed our week here. The garden, being pet friendly and the parking are such pluses.

"Third visit to Homleigh and it needs money spent on property."
...getting very tired.......having said that it suits us and two dogs.....but unfortunately there are a lot of defects with the property

Very clean and everything we needed. We have been coming to Salcombe for years and renting through you where possible. Our only issue is that we there is no further availability for the property until 2023!!
"The house is great - high ceilings, big rooms - soo much space and so well equipped and the Garden is a delight - we could have easily hung out there without visiting anywhere and had a lovely break."

"Hi, I spoke to Angela on Friday 23 October and offered some feedback regarding damp in the house (lounge, kitchen, dining area) visiting slugs in the kitchen."
My husband released the slugs outside! No doubt this was linked to the damp weather during our stay. My husband is a surveyor and we offer this feedback based on his knowledge and experience. We know Victorian houses have character and sometimes damp. The warmth and supply of hot water was great. Location and parking was excellent. Kitchen was very well equipped and the only thing we failed to find was a mixing bowl. We loved the comfort of this being a family home. What would have made it perfect was a log burner. Our children were disappointed that they could not find the leads for the Wii. If the leads are there, they need to be easier to find or I suggest removing the Wii completely. I hope this is helpful. "We had a great weekend at Salcombe music festival, 1 Holmliegh is just a short walk into town centre, though the hill may be a little steep for some, it is a very comfortable place to stay with enclosed garden for our fur baby tiny, there was everything there that we needed."
Although I would say that there is a musty smell in the conservatory but I guess that's because of the time of year and the age of it. I would like to make you aware that theres wet coming through on the walls behind the TV in the lounge, this is a shame as it looks like its been newly decorated throughout. We would definitely stay here again for a short break.

The plastic hangers in the master bedroom wardrobe need throwing out and replaced as they are coated with a sticky substance. Not sure if there is a woodlice nest near the property but everyday there were live and dead woodlices in most of the rooms. This did not present a problem as removed the live ones and removed the dead ones each day BUT in the single toilet, by the window and behind the toilet there were a vast amount of dead woodlices which need to be removed. Overall the property provides a comfortable and large space, inside and outside, very convenient location and good for dogs, with its garden.

.. Lighting poor on a winter evening Double bedroom bed not comfortable-two singles put together-dip in the middle. Probably great in the summer with conservatory and garden but not cosy enough in the winter..

Ideally located just 200 yards downhill from the harbour with space for 3 vehicles to park is a godsend in Salcombe.

Salcombe is a popular destination for walkers and families looking for a holiday by the sea and was once a major port. There are two pretty beaches within a short distance, North Sands and South Sands and further on is the National Trust property Overbeck’s where you can wander through the subtropical gardens. Why not have a more adventurous day and try out the watersports available on the estuary including surfing, kayaking or a more leisurely boat trip? Whilst staying in Salcombe you must take advantage of the locally sourced seafood which is served in many of the restaurants, pubs, cafés and delicatessens. The southern tip of Devon provides some spectacular scenery and picturesque vistas with a number of sandy beaches, lovely villages with thatched cottages and some fantastic opportunities for walking, including the South West Coast path.
