  • "No bath. Listing had bath on it."

Nice shower in it's place, but no bath in property at all. Weirdly, toilet in this bathroom is exceptionally high off ground, only just touch the ground when sat on it! Kitchen was tired with doors missing off appliances. Ensuite toilet Saniflow system overflowed and leaked through ceiling. Sorted by C&CC quickly, but shouldn't happen in first place. Ensuite shower had no pressure when taps in kitchen being used.

  • "We had an amazing stay at the cottage."

We had to leave our previous holiday home in Dorset because it was so dirty. We booked 1 Top View Cottage the morning we arrived and we are so glad we did otherwise we would have gone hone with 3 very unhappy children. The cottage was so clean and had everything we needed. Perfectly situated to walk into town. Salcombe is absolutely amazing we will definitely be back. Thank you to Sykes Cottages that helped us that morning to book another holiday after our disastrous start.

  • "A lovely cottage, well equipped, to a high standard, would recommend Re directions to cottage, when you turn into Salcombe, the turn on the right is easily missed as the street sign has fallen over and is parked in front of."

Would recommend that the right turn is just prior to the street sign warning that the road narrows

  • "The mattress on the double bed is very thin and poor quality which resulted in poor sleep."

This needs to be addressed as it was uncomfortable. This was our only issue. This cottage was spotlessly clean with everything provided for a fantastic holiday. Salcombe and the South Devon Coast is stunning and we will be booking through Coast and Country again when we return.

  • "When we hired this cottage last year it was spotless but this time it looked like corners had been cut."

The microwave was very mucky and some of the plates and cutlery were not clean. Also I was expecting a few dishwasher tablets and at least one toilet roll in each bathroom. I know that you have very high standards and I will definitely recommend you and plan to return to Salcombe but was a little disappointed with the slip in standards.

Many thanks for your feedback, although we were concerned to read that the property was not satisfactorily presented prior to your arrival. As you will appreciate, we work very hard with our owners and housekeepers to ensure high standards of cleanliness are maintained, so it is very disappointing to read these comments. Your feedback has been passed on to the housekeeper/cleaner concerned and we will request that the cupboards and equipment, in particular, are given a thorough clean. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused. We are also grateful for the comment in respect of the overall appearance of the property and will pass on your feedback to the owners. We do hope that you had an enjoyable holiday in spite of the issues raised and look forward to welcoming you back to Salcombe in the not too distant future. Property Owner

  • "Good value and well fitted."

Comfortably furnished. If you are not particularly mobile this cottage is a bit too far up the hill, but Salcombe is like that.
