    We had a great holiday.

4 x friends. Fab location, very well equipped apartment. Private, quiet, all in all a great time. I would note takes 5 mins to get to main street via the steps however quite a steep hill / steps to get back. Would definitely stay again

We have stayed before and would do so again. The only improvement would be a garden gate to keep our toddler out of the parking area.

  • "Beautiful clean well equipped apartment with easy parking and lovely garden area to sit in."

Lovely coastal walks nearby and a short stroll into town.It is quite steep coming back from town. We’re in our late sixties and are used to hills so not a problem for us. Stayed 2 weeks and walked 100 miles with fantastic views. Thank you for a lovely stay.

  • "Great location, with a short walk into town."

The apartment and town had everything we needed. Our only issue was that the bath wasn’t particularly clean so we had to clean it before we could use it, the rest of the apartment was spotless.

  • "Overall a lovely stay, the flat was modern and light, short walk to the town best reached via the steps from Allenhayes road to Devon Road then the steps from Devon road to the small park then straight into town."

Had really good weather which always helps and it was great to be be able to sit on the patio in the mornings. Good to see Salcombe busy again although some places struggling as can’t get staff. Had some lovely trips out good food at the Fortescue inn and for a special meal recommend Twenty seven by Jamie Roger’s in Kingsbridge. We will be back

Comfortable, clean and well equipped apartment… (except there was no oven glove!) The dishwasher door is an accident waiting to happen. We have reported this but it was like it when we stayed in October and nothing was done.

  • "Great apartment."

Well maintained and presented. There were only two of us, might be a bit small for 4 adults but ok for 2 adults and 2 kids. Really could do with a shower curtain in the en-suite. Well cared for and professionally managed, wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.

  • "The property is lovely, part of a very smart looking building a short walk from the harbour and all the shops and restaurants, very well looked after, tastefully decorated and clean as a whistle."

The kitchen is well stocked with all the equipment you could ever need. The bed is comfortable and there's plenty of drawers and a nice big wardrobe. The double doors open out on to a nice little garden that gets plenty of sun with the added bonus of the friendliest little robins who pop by the minute you sit down The bath is lovely after a long day and the shower definitely wakes you up in the morning All in all a lovely little place

  • "The apartment had clearly not been thoroughly cleaned which is a major concern for us in the current climate."

Examples are the microwave controls were sticky and once wiped with an anti bacterial cloth the button descriptions were illegible, the laminated instruction sheet informing us how to safe guard the cleaning staff was stained with some form of liquid, table mats, coasters and some cutlery were stained and required cleaning, skirting boards in both bathrooms were thick with dust. The apartment is very well placed and should be an ideal holiday centre . Unfortunately in addition to the cleanliness the main seating is a sofa bed which is not designed for comfort. It seems strange to have a sofa bed when the apartment is to sleep 4 and there were 2 singles and one double bed. A final niggle is that the key has to collected from the office in the main town centre which is very busy at key collection time. Using a key safe would be much more convenient.

Thank you for your feedback on your recent stay. We were most concerned to read that there were some cleanliness issues upon your arrival and can only apologise for this. A new cleaning team have since been appointed to take over this property. However, we were glad you were happy with the property location, and we hope to welcome you back to the area soon. • "Having previously stayed in this apartment and really enjoyed it I returned this year."

It’s perfectly situated in the town with a parking space outside which is a plus I must say. It’s nice and spacious inside with a patio and garden space in a lovely sunny sheltered spot so I enjoyed meals outside. If there is a negative point to make, it would just be that there is no small independent window to open making it too warm at night for sleeping!!

  • "Very well equipped apartment, had everything we needed and beyond."

Also very clean throughout, but not to the point of smelling of cleaning fluids/sprays (very important for asthma sufferers like myself). I had a plug that was stuck in the plughole when we got there, so I rang the office, and somebody came and fixed it before I had even left for the morning's adventure across the cliffs. I found Salcombe itself quite lacking especially in dining out options, but it's possible and probable that was because of the ongoing issues around Covid 19. Sticking to the appartment however, and no complaints what-so-ever. Excellent service, and a bargain at approx £70 per night. That's cheaper then a lot of B&B's so you can't really go wrong. Also, if you are somebody who likes to explore the outdoors, this is an excellent base for doing that, certainly for the South West coast path (which is around 15 minutes away by car).

  • "Super flat for a two week break; clean, good appliances and quiet."

    Noeleen EdmundsonAug 2016

  • "Generally very well equipped , especially the kitchen with enough crockery , glasses etc for 8 people and plenty of cooking equipment if you were planning to eat in ."

Living room nicely furnished with attractive art making it feel very homely . Some of the bedroom furniture was chipped and could do with replacing and the bedroom carpets have seen better days . However , our main grumble was we did find the bathrooms very cramped and the basins really only suitable for hand washing . A pity there was not a proper standing shower in the ensuite ; it meant 4 adults sharing the shower in the very cramped 2nd bathroom . We've stayed in other Coombehaven properties before and not found an issue with the bathrooms . Shame there was no means of obtaining air at night other than opening the patio doors in the bedrooms thus risking the local wildlife walking in ; having them closed meant the bedrooms became very hot and stuffy even though it was not a warm week . Coombehaven is a very well maintained , central yet quiet development that we will at again but not at No. 4 .

  • "The apartment was more spacious than we expected."

Nice to have a seperate shower room and a little garden area. The kitchen and the kitchen equipment was in need of a clean, the chopping board was covered in hairs which was quite unpleasant, the main cooking pan needed replacing and the baking tray had something stuck to it which I couldn't get off. Just little things but a bit off putting. The location was good and the parking was easy which was great. The apartment was warm and nicely decorated throughout. It felt safe and we liked it, it was quite suitable for our nearly 2 year old daughter though we took our own highchair etc.
