  • "A most comfortable property with a superb view of the estuary."

Close to the town amenities and on a regular bus route to Kingsbridge ,Plymouth and Totnes.

  • "The property has a great view and it’s an amazing location for the yacht club for regatta week as well as town."

Second bedroom needs new beds - they were very uncomfortable. We had some trouble with the shower. The balcony was not cleaned despite a complaint on the first day.

  • "Enjoyed our second stay at this property."

Just a couple of points. The main shower is sometimes tricky to change from bath to shower. Could do with a small milk jug. More comfy outdoor furniture. More toilet rolls please. Positive points Lovely and clean Liked the box of new cleaning products Will definitely like to return

  • "The cream sofa is broken so very uncomfortable."

The single mattresses both need replacing - they were uncomfortable last easter when we visited but painful now one year on. Ask the cleaners to clean inside the double bed frame - it is thick with white dog hair. There is a lot of BLACK MOULD on the bedroom wall in 2nd bedroom around the window and all inside the wardrobe, which is a danger to health and should be dealt with.

  • "Thank you so much for such a relaxing week away by the seaside in such a gorgeous apartment and beautiful town!"

Took a trip to Burgh Island and saw the Agatha Hotel, it was breathtaking. Enjoyed early morning dog walk with the incredible views. Thank you.

  • "The apartment was perfect for us."

The location and ease to walk to town was great. We travelled with our dog, so the little park next to the apartment was great at night for the last outing of the day. It was really comfortable and decorated really well. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back.

  • "Lovely flat with an amazing view of the estuary and parking which is a must in Salcombe."

Had a lovely stay with our teenage daughters, the flat being the perfect size for a family of 4. The biggest let down was the bathroom, it’s dated and there is mould around the window in the shower which isn’t nice to shower in. Also, the toilet is leaking which was noticed on the last day as just thought it was condensation on the floor. Overall, lovely but needs some tlc.

  • "Unbeatable location."

Perfect for our family vacation with our dog. So helpful to have parking in Salcombe. We love the balcony with the stunning view but would love more comfortable outdoor furniture to really take advantage of it. Love the new comfy sofas in the sitting room as well as the great quality mattress and bedding in the master bedroom. Also the new panelling in the hall. The loo seat in the master bathroom could do with replacing or tightening as it keeps sliding to one side and I was concerned we’d break it. Possibly next but if investment could be to replace washing machine, but I could manage it. Otherwise perfect holiday rental in Salcombe. We have been coming to Salcombe every summer for 12 years and just booked 4 Glenthorne for 3rd year running.

  • "The entire place has just been tastefully refurbished which was a brilliant surprise."

It looked different from the photos from the previous year. Saying this, we were still able to relax, have the dog and enjoy brilliant views. Thank you for good service concerning bedding too.

  • "The view from the balcony was amazing, the highlight of our stay and worth the visit."

However, the flat is very tired and needs new furniture (especially sofas) and carpets. The bin in the bedroom was full. The kitchen was clean and well stocked but everything else was below expectations of a stay in Salcombe.

  • "On arrival the apartment had not been cleaned, cleaners were sent in for an hour and was not up to safe Covid standards, so was faced with the task of cleaning thoroughly before starting our holiday."

We did receive compensation and our complaint was dealt with efficiently but it doesn’t give back the time involved and disappointment. Apartment was ideal for a walk into Salcombe and had the benefit of a car parking space. The balcony overlooked part of the harbour unfortunately the weather wasn’t good enough to enjoy this facility. No welcome pack was provided. Salcombe is a lovely place to be with independent shops and eating places. Plenty of benches to sit on overlooking the harbour. Not recommended for people with mobility issues due to the hills and narrow pavements.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us your comments. All feedback is greatly appreciated. We were terribly sorry to read that the cleanliness of the apartment upon your arrival was unsatisfactory. We were pleased however, that the housekeeping team were able to assist with rectifying this issue. We do hope that despite this inconvenience, you were able to enjoy Devon and we very much look forward to welcoming you back soon. Coast and Country Cottages on behalf of, Property Owner

This stunning single-storey property offers an exceptional base for beachcombers, ramblers, families and those alike to call home, as they enjoy all that this corner of coastal Devon has to offer.

Kick off your sandy shoes within the light-filled hallway before making your way into the heart of the home, the open-plan living room, containing everything you could possibly need for a self-catering stay with family.

The kitchen comes well-equipped for the chef of the group to rustle up tasty evening meals, as well as plenty of preparation space to pack up a picnic for the next day’s beach adventure, in addition to a dishwasher and a washer/dryer, so that you barely have to lift a finger whilst on holiday here!

Joining the space is the formal dining table, a sociable spot for enjoying the company of your loved ones as you tuck into a local takeaway or a family-favourite dish, accompanied by a tipple for toasting to a wonderful holiday.

Completing the space are two leather sofas, which are awaiting to be curled up in at the end of each bracing day; flick on the gas fire to allow a gentle warmth to fill the space before tuning into the TV to unwind into the evening before heading to bed.

Alternatively, during the balmy evenings, open up the patio doors and step out onto the decked balcony to savour the views across the colourful town and across to the picturesque estuary.

Once the sun has set, return indoors to find your sleeping spots, with the master bedroom notable for its plush king-size bed and access to a private balcony, where the views across the estuary continue to captivate.

Bedroom two consists of two single beds which can be zip-linked (on request) as well as an additional trundle bed and its own en-suite shower room.

The ground-floor apartment is completed by the family bathroom, which features a shower over bath, so that you can truly savour a moment of relaxation at the end of a fun-filled afternoon.

Better acquaint yourself with your surroundings as you meander into the centre of Salcombe, where you will be spoilt for choice by the selection of locally-sourced delicacies for those evenings where you do not feel like cooking, as well as a plethora of pubs and the famous Salcombe Gin bar located on Island Street for those special occasions.

Just a short walk away is the picturesque waterfront, where watersport enthusiasts can look forward to exploring the crystal blue waters by hiring out a boat from Whitestrand Boat Hire, or if you are feeling brave, try your hand at paddle boarding, swimming, surfing, sailing and kayaking!

When the weather is warm, pack up your beach bag and follow the South West Coastal Path to discover the local beaches of North Sands Beach and South Sands Beach, both featuring a glorious stretch of sand, incredible views and rock pools, which are well-worth exploring.

From here, you could also visit the National Trust property of Overbeck’s or hop on board the ferry to make the trip across the waters to visit the delights of Small's Cove, Mill Bay and Sunny Cove Beach.
