  • "A fantastic location and very convenient to have a parking space."

    The air conditioning was very welcome as we had hot weather and the top floor is very sunny. We also enjoyed using the terrace for evening meals in the shade. Have already rebooked for next year!

  • "Harbour yard is great location, as central to shops and pubs as is possible."

    Maybe some parts of the property and decor are now getting a bit tired now specifically the bathrooms and condensation in the en suite is a constant issue and we had to dry the towels every day in the communal wash room which is coin operated so bring some £ coins. The single TV system is very complicated but once we understood ( after a couple days ) how to access the live channels it was just fine. Overall a very pleasant stay.,

  • "Really lovely house in a perfect location plus parking, what more could you want?"

    The house was clean and well presented, it's very well equipped and comfortable. It's not particularly spacious but it suited our needs (we are a family of 4, might get a bit a cosy if there are more adults) and has a really lovely feel to it. The only negative we had in the whole week was the washing machine situation, had to wait nearly two days and someone decided to leave their washing in both washers, not ideal when you're trying to washing beach towels! However it hasn't deterred us and we will be booking for next year.

    We are delighted that you enjoyed the property so much that you intend to book a future visit. In terms of the washing machines, please do feel free to unload clean washing and leave it safely on one side. Sometimes people forget they have put a wash on! Response from the owner. Property Owner

  • "The accommodation was lovely and in a great position."

    Only criticism would be the description saying it has a garden. Although there is an outside area it's not really somewhere you could sit and relax.

  • "We have a few minor gripes: 1."

    Key collection & drop-off could be improved. 2. No sockets in one of the bedrooms. 3. Some sockets not working in one of the bedrooms. 4. Some lights not working throughout the property. 5. Two keys to access the property would be useful. 6. NHS Covid QR Code had to be searched for. It should be on the wall when entering the property. It was hidden amongst the pamphlets.

  • "A lovely house in a lovely position."

    So I consider it well worth my time to compile the following list of minor faults: 1) Front Door Sticks 2) Skirting by Front Door falling off 3) Power Point behind Master Bedroom Drawers only half working 4) Three Drawer Stops missing from Master Bedroom Drawers 5) Master Bedroom Wardrobe Doors too Twisted to shut properly 6) Master Bathroom Skylight very dirty 7) Master Bathroom Light Bulb (no spare) 8) Kitchen Cupboard Light Bulb (no spare) 9) Kitchen, Dining Table & Sitting Area Light Bulbs (One spare bulb broken & other spare not dimmable) 10) Fridge Door doesn’t snap shut. (Not completely cured by WD40 on the hinges) 11) No Instructions for very complicated Oven (Good Idea to leave Instructions next to relevant appliance) 12) Glass inside Juliette Balcony was very dirty 13) Back Door very dirty 14) Trees shading Back Terrace need pruning 15) Slate fallen off No2’s roof 16) Sykes very slow to answer the phone. Coast & Country much better!

  • "Location excellent and a very nice house ."

    I will be a little critical of the cleanliness though. Considering it was being cleaned from 10 until 5 I think considering COVID it could have been cleaner . There were a few pieces of dirty cutlery in the drawer . Underneath the microwave was filthy, and the toilets weren’t cleaned as well as should have been . There were also some suspect hairs on the bathroom floors, not those from a head ! I haven’t put that expectations were failed as I feel that the positives outweigh the negatives.

We are sorry to hear that there were a few cleanliness issues upon your arrival; we work very hard with our owners and individual cleaners/caretakers to ensure all properties are clean, tidy and well-presented before the arrival of holiday guests and we are sorry that these checks did not highlight the issues you have raised. Please bear in mind that the check in time has been pushed back to allow cleaners to focus on sanitising high traffic areas but may have more than one property to clean on a changeover day. It is disappointing that you did not contact us with these cleanliness issues during your stay as we would have most certainly been able to rectify most of this for you immediately.   • "Another great stay at 5 Harbour Yard, great location and accommodation."

    This stay I did notice that general maintenance needed a little attention. Only small things but it's the little things that count and also demonstrates how the property will be maintained long term. Nearly every room had a little bulb gone Ground floor Bathroom fan needs good clean, given there is no window to open this is an important one to maintain. Ground floor Bath seal has come away from tiles which will allow water behind bath. My only other comment would be that the super king bed on ground floor is very uncomfortable, an investment in a better quality mattress would be warmly welcome. I would definitely stay here again it's a great place and I hope this feedback helps keep it well maintained for lots of future use.

  • "Listing said washing machine, but we could not find it!"

    Also had to go into coast and country on day 2 and ask for one gate code for gate and second set of keys. Both of these should have been given to us on day one. Other than it was great

5 Harbour Yard is an impressive dwelling nestled in a small gated development within the town centre of Salcombe.

Inside, you will find an elegantly decorated space, full of natural light and three spacious bedrooms, making 5 Harbour Yard the perfect family getaway to this charming resort town.

The ground floor houses the master bedroom, comprising of a super king-size bed (that can be split into two singles on request) with en-suite, containing a bath with shower over, basin and WC.

You will find the additional bedrooms on the first floor, including a king-size double and built-in cabin beds, suitable for the younger guests.

SALCOMBE

Kingsbridge 7 miles; Dartmouth 21 miles; Plymouth 24 miles; Paignton 26 miles.

Salcombe is a popular destination for walkers and families looking for a holiday by the sea and was once a major port. There are two pretty beaches within a short distance, North Sands and South Sands and further on is the National Trust property Overbeck’s where you can wander through the subtropical gardens. Why not have a more adventurous day and try out the watersports available on the estuary including surfing, kayaking or a more leisurely boat trip? Whilst staying in Salcombe you must take advantage of the locally sourced seafood which is served in many of the restaurants, pubs, cafés and delicatessens. The southern tip of Devon provides some spectacular scenery and picturesque vistas with a number of sandy beaches, lovely villages with thatched cottages and some fantastic opportunities for walking, including the South West Coast path.
