    “Very well appointed apartment.”


    Couple of points, 1/ outside of building looks tired and not very inviting. 2/ hallway and stairs carpet quite dirty which made us anxious before entering the apartment. 3/ no welcome pack provided at all..... No milk etc..... A few t-bags and only half of one toilet roll!!.. However very well stocked units containing all required cleaning products.. Apart from above points the apartment is very nice, great location, well appointed and ideal for walking the SW coast path. Very disappointed with the lack of eateries in Salcombe but would recommend The Crabshed, excellent food, lovely people and superb location.

The property

6 Glenthorne House is a two-bedroom first floor apartment located within a Victorian villa, within easy walking distance to the heart of Salcombe.

This apartment has an open planned kitchen/ lounge /dining room featuring a well-equipped kitchen, comfortable seating for 4 guests to dine together and a cosy lounge in which to relax.

Kitchen amenities include a range of fitted units, fitted gas oven, microwave, washer/dryer and dishwasher.

The lounge comprises of two comfortable sofas, some occasional furniture, dining table and chairs, TV/DVD player and offers fantastic views out over the Estuary.

There is a family bathroom with bath, shower (over) w.c, wash hand basin and heated towel rail.

Accommodating four guests, the property has two bedrooms.

The master bedroom has a comfortable 5ft bed, wardrobe, small chest of drawers and dressing table.

The second bedroom comprises of two single beds, drawers and wardrobe.

The property offers allocated off road parking and free wireless Broadband is also available. Within easy reaches of the sandy beaches at East Portlemouth, North Sands and South Sands, the location is ideal for a family beach holiday or coastal break, with the South West Coast Path offering stunning walking routes nearby.

Kingsbridge 7 miles; Dartmouth 21 miles; Plymouth 24 miles; Paignton 26 miles.

Salcombe is a popular destination for walkers and families looking for a holiday by the sea and was once a major port. There are two pretty beaches within a short distance, North Sands and South Sands and further on is the National Trust property Overbeck’s where you can wander through the subtropical gardens. Why not have a more adventurous day and try out the watersports available on the estuary including surfing, kayaking or a more leisurely boat trip? Whilst staying in Salcombe you must take advantage of the locally sourced seafood which is served in many of the restaurants, pubs, cafés and delicatessens. The southern tip of Devon provides some spectacular scenery and picturesque vistas with a number of sandy beaches, lovely villages with thatched cottages and some fantastic opportunities for walking, including the South West Coast path.
