The property

Right in the centre of Salcombe is this modern reverse-level apartment, one of six converted from an old post office.

Just 50 yards from Whitestrand Quay, it is light, roomy and stylishly contemporary accommodation for adults or families.

Two flights of steps take you up from the gated undercover turntable parking area to a courtyard and your front door into the hall.

On this level you will find three bedrooms, two with a glimpse of the water.

Head on upstairs and the apartment opens out to an open plan living space, always comfortable with warm and cool air conditioning, cosy seating, balustrade looking over the shared courtyard and a wonderful big window seat where you can sit on the raised platform and get a glimpse of the waterfront over roofs.

There is never a dull moment in this heart-of-town location.

Wander out to the boutique shops for a thoroughly satisfying retail experience, browse the galleries and eat out or sample Salcombe Gin at the waterside pubs and smart restaurants.

You can walk off any excesses on the South West Coast Path, or maybe play golf or tennis.

This is boating heaven, so why not hire a boat and join the yachties on the water?

And of course, South Devon is famous for its splendid and beautiful sandy beaches for swimming, surfing, sandcastling or just snoozing in the sun.

Salcombe is a popular destination for walkers and families looking for a holiday by the sea and was once a major port. There are two pretty beaches within a short distance, North Sands and South Sands and further on is the National Trust property Overbeck’s where you can wander through the subtropical gardens. Why not have a more adventurous day and try out the watersports available on the estuary including surfing, kayaking or a more leisurely boat trip? Whilst staying in Salcombe you must take advantage of the locally sourced seafood which is served in many of the restaurants, pubs, cafés and delicatessens. The southern tip of Devon provides some spectacular scenery and picturesque vistas with a number of sandy beaches, lovely villages with thatched cottages and some fantastic opportunities for walking, including the South West Coast path.
