  • "Beautiful house!"

Very comfortable and obviously a well loved holiday home. Very well equipped and tastefully decorated and furnished. Large enclosed garden for our dog and off road parking. We stayed here around fifteen years ago and enjoyed it just as much this time.

  • "Blackstine cottage was amazing."

There was only two of us so we were rattling around. It’s quite a large property. Six people would easily have enough space. We particularly liked the downstairs accommodation ….. This would be a great space if you have children for them to chill out with their own television. We loved Salcombe. Just be aware that it’s very busy and it’s best to book for food and drinks. It’s also expensive! A lot of pubs shut early, they said due to staff shortages. Overall we had an amazing holiday. Disappointed to see that this property appears to be fully booked up for the foreseeable future!

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We are so pleased to hear that your holiday here at Blackstone was amazing. We were sorry to hear that you had some difficulty with pubs etc and can only apologise on their behalf. We hope that you do not face these during your next stay here in stunning Salcombe. • "Possibly make it known that it is very steep round there and it would be difficult for people with limited mobility"

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback for Blackstone Cottage. We are aware that Salcombe due to its nature, is steep in places and do try to alert any future guests to this with notes on our website. Despite this, we do hope we are able to welcome you back to the area again soon. Property Owner

  • "Very nice accommodation at the top of the town."

Missing a few minor touches that would make the cottage perfect. BBQ is basic, would expect a higher quality gas BBQ for the cost. Also lacks kitchen utensils including no BBQ long tongues or burger flipper.

We are delighted you enjoyed your stay at Blackstone Cottage. The owner is aware of your comments regarding the BBQ and utensils. We do hope you choose to come and visit Salcombe again soon. Property Owner

  • "Loved the fact that the layout of the house enabled 2 couples to have a really high quality week together whilst still having our own space and facilities."

Bit of a walk down to the town but didn't mind that. Well equipped kitchen. My only request would be better support for re-cycling. We recognise council does not collect from property, so took ours down to the Co-op car park every few days. It would be great if you could provide suitable bins and take to recycle centre after a client stays. This would encourage the right behaviour from all.

  • "The cottage was fine but two things really 1 cottage is situated on a junction of 4 roads so very hard to see to reverse into road."

Somebody had to guide cars out. Also because of angle of road could not reverse to be facing away from town which meant you had to always go through town to get out of Salcombe. Little thing but annoying. 2 notice in the cottage about not leaving your dog alone in the cottage should be included in the general description on the web site. We did not need to leave our dog alone but I think this should be made clear at time of booking.

  • "Really nice house in a good location for us near the beaches and the town, all walkable."

The garden is nice, and a good size. The access for the car is a bit tight but with care it is not too bad. Inside, the rooms are all good, clean with more than enough amenities.

  • "Blackstone Cottage was beautifully clean and well appointed."

We were very glad we had been warned beforehand of the building work next door ... it is a shame that the new building does take away some of the privacy in the garden but it did not impact on our holiday. Coast and Country were extremely helpful, answering all our queries, even sending me a birthday gift and card, nothing was too much trouble! The cottage itself is very comfortable - the downstairs bathroom has been updated and it looks lovely plus the new carpet in the garden bedroom is a welcome addition. The walled garden is sunny and our dog loved it! Parking is a fantastic bonus in Salcombe and meant we could easily go out for the day without ever having the worry of where to park on our return. We can thoroughly recommend Blackstone Cottage as a warm and comfortable home in which to stay.

  • "A lovely cottage with everything we needed and great for the dogs."

The cottage was spotlessly clean. We would have appreciated a television in the kitchen / diner as this was the room we used mor e than the garden room. The building works next door did not affect us at all but we glad that you had told us in advance. A good holiday was had by all.

  • "Lovely house, well furnished, nicely decorated, very clean and comfortable."

Good location for town and for North Sands. Building work next door was quite noisy but apart from that we would recommend a stay here.

  • "Bit disappointed that for price no towels included and no dishwasher tablets provided."

Also that had to strip all beds on day of departure. Property very nice other than that and good location with a dog as near beach. Also very good wifi.
