    “The cottage was fine but two things really 1 cottage is situated on a junction of 4 roads so very hard to see to reverse into road.”

    Somebody had to guide cars out. Also because of angle of road could not reverse to be facing away from town which meant you had to always go through town to get out of Salcombe. Little thing but annoying.

Little thing but annoying. 2 notice in the cottage about not leaving your dog alone in the cottage should be included in the general description on the web site. We did not need to leave our dog alone but I think this should be made clear at time of booking.

The property

At the upper end of Devon Road, within walking distance of Salcombe's shops, quayside and restaurants, sits the superb dog-friendly detached property Blackstone Cottage.

The town’s beautiful beach of North Sands is just a 10-minute walk via Sandhills Road, and the South West Coast Path is also easily accessible, meaning this property is exceptionally well located for exploring! Highlights of the property include a beautifully fitted kitchen, large sitting/dining area and delightful south facing lounge with a large window and French doors leading out to the garden.

On the upper 'studio' level are two double bedrooms built into the roof space, both with double beds, one with a door opening out to small balcony with sea views.

The third bedroom is on the lower, garden level and has twin beds.

The property also has a fully tiled bathroom on the upper level, and a shower room at garden level.

In addition, there is also a cloakroom and utility room.

Perhaps most attractive to dog owners, outside the is a lovely garden with lawn, and a south facing sun terrace with table, chairs, and a barbeque.

Salcombe is a popular destination for walkers and families looking for a holiday by the sea and was once a major port. There are two pretty beaches within a short distance, North Sands and South Sands and further on is the National Trust property Overbeck’s where you can wander through the subtropical gardens. Why not have a more adventurous day and try out the watersports available on the estuary including surfing, kayaking or a more leisurely boat trip? Whilst staying in Salcombe you must take advantage of the locally sourced seafood which is served in many of the restaurants, pubs, cafés and delicatessens. The southern tip of Devon provides some spectacular scenery and picturesque vistas with a number of sandy beaches, lovely villages with thatched cottages and some fantastic opportunities for walking, including the South West Coast path.
