    “The cottage was over crowded with furniture and very small.”

    The bedroom was very small (bed touched 3 walls) but the massive wardrobe did not help. All holiday I felt like the cottage needed streamlining of furniture. I wish we had been told about the building work on the cottage opposite in the alley before we arrived. Most mornings we were woken by builders on the roof before 8am. The cottage was down a narrow alley so we had to keep the blinds down 24/7 to prevent the builders looking in, which did not help as the weather was warm and we need the ...

I appreciate that the owners are not to blame for the building work but I feel they should have been aware of this situation. So to sum up, we were up early every morning without a lie in (which I feel a lie in is a big part of relaxing and unwinding on holiday)

Located within a few minutes’ level walk of Salcombe’s town centre and pretty waterfront, Blueboat Cottage is a very well presented and recently refurbished stone terraced cottage, perfect for a family or couple.

The property is dog-friendly and is situated just off Island Street – a great position for reaching the main public car park a few minute’s walk away (for which a parking pass is provided), as well as local sandy beaches, accessible from the quayside via a small passenger ferry.

The cottage is well equipped and offers contemporary furnished holiday accommodation, as well as a shared outside area at the front of the property with a wooden bench. Relax with your family in the open plan ground floor living accommodation.

With a fully fitted kitchen, small dining area, and comfortable sitting area, this is a wonderful space for a quiet evening after a busy day exploring Salcombe’s boutique shops, art galleries and coastal paths.

The property also has two first floor bedrooms – a master with King-size bed (access from one side only) and a second bedroom with modern 3ft bunk beds.

There is also a shower room with enclosed shower cubicle. Outside, there is a communal area at front of the property with a wooden bench.

A parking pass is provided for the long stay car park nearby.

Whether you are planning a walking break with your partner and dog, or are looking for a well-located base within easy reach of the beach for your family summer holiday, this is a wonderful option!

Salcombe is a popular destination for walkers and families looking for a holiday by the sea and was once a major port. There are two pretty beaches within a short distance, North Sands and South Sands and further on is the National Trust property Overbeck’s where you can wander through the subtropical gardens. Why not have a more adventurous day and try out the watersports available on the estuary including surfing, kayaking or a more leisurely boat trip? Whilst staying in Salcombe you must take advantage of the locally sourced seafood which is served in many of the restaurants, pubs, cafés and delicatessens. The southern tip of Devon provides some spectacular scenery and picturesque vistas with a number of sandy beaches, lovely villages with thatched cottages and some fantastic opportunities for walking, including the South West Coast path.
