  • "This is a beautiful house, situated very near to Salcombe town centre."

The kitchen is spacious and works well as open plan living, well equipped with all the gadgets you need to be home from home and plenty of crockery and cutlery. The two sitting rooms worked brilliantly as a child free zone and a play room. Amazing view from master suite and 2 parking permits were great! Thank you. We will definitely be back. • "One of the nicest holiday homes I have ever stayed in!"

Only downside was that I got a parking ticket when loading the car to go home. Word of warning: keep a look out. The traffic warden said that I had left the car unattended for 5 minutes ! Otherwise, Coast and Country Cottages were brilliant and the holidays in Salcombe was fabulous....

  • "A wonderful house that is well situated in Salcombe."

I would not hesitate to recommend Leylands or the service we received from Sykes Cottages and their local affiliates Coast and Country. Leylands was comfortably large enough for our two families for the week. The second lounge was a blessing as we could insulate ourselves from our offspring. We adults spent most of our time in the kitchen/dinner that was a great size and very well stocked with all the crockery, cutlery and modern conveniences you could need. I also have to mention the very generous two parking permits. Anyone who knows Salcombe will appreciate that if they have two cars. Lastly the view from the master bedroom window is picture perfect. When we go back next year this will be the house we book.

  • "A really lovely, good sized property , perfect for our weekend with friends."

Leylands is clean and modern with beautiful interior finishings and has a really well equipped kitchen. Fabulous views over the estuary from the master bedroom and a lovely seating area in the rear garden. We would definitely recommend.

The kitchen is very well equipped and the property is very well maintained throughout. Ps be prepared for hilly walks!

  • "Beautiful location 3 minute walk to the front."

Very clean property had everything you need! Already looking at rebooking for next year! Only down fall is there is no parking at the property it does come with one permit for the main car park. As there were two cars with us we found some free parking further up the hill but presume in high season this is impossible!

Lots of room. Great dining outside and close to the town. Very well stocked. Clean and newly renovated. Steep hill up to the house got me slightly fitter too!

  • "We had a wonderful week in sunny Salcombe staying at Leylands, the property is beautiful and really well equipped having everything & more that we needed during our stay."

The house was beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean, with a stunning outlook from the front overlooking the estuary. We absolutely loved our stay and would definitely like to return in the future.

  • "This house is well appointed and in a good location."

The beds and linen are excellent. The house was not clean. Parking is extremely difficult, you get a pass but the car is hilly 5/10 mins away and you can’t unload/load outside the house.

Many thanks for leaving your feedback, we are glad to hear you found the property well-appointed and it really is in a great location. Due to the position of the property, a car parking pass is the only option for parking, this is 5/10 minutes away however a lot of our guests pull up on the opposite pavement to unload and then go and park. We are disappointed to hear the house was not property cleaned on arrival, we have spoken to the cleaner who was very apologetic, on this occasion due to unforeseen circumstances and a logistical issue the cleaners were running late that day. We can only apologise and hope that you enjoyed your stay in spite of any issues you have raised. Property Owner

  • "We had a wonderful holiday at Leylands."

It was a fantastic house - we particularly appreciated the lovely beds and linen! We would suggest that perhaps a tap out the front would be useful in order to stop people having to carry wet and sandy things through the house but other than that we were very impressed!

Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback. We’re really pleased you’ve enjoyed your stay here at Leylands. We appreciate your suggestion and will pass onto the owner, many thanks. We hope to welcome you back to Salcombe and the sandy beaches sometime soon. Property Owner

  • "This is a fantastic place in which to stay for a holiday in Salcombe."

The house was immaculate having recently been refurbished and very stylish. We were unable to park outside but did not need the car during our short break as there are a few excellent coastal walks from the town.

  • "Leylands is a beautiful house with lovely space and modern facilities which we found very comfortable."

It is a short but very steep walk in and out of town which is fine if you are fit but not for those who need support. It is a real shame there is no parking for this reason as the provided permit was for the reef car park a good walk away. The upstairs bathrooms need some updating/ deep cleaning but apart from that we would go again.

  • "We had a lovely holiday there and hope to go back next year."

A few things to improve is to get a new hoover and it would benefit from a spring clean as behind the 2 single beds it was extremely dusty ! Also the bath had not been cleaned and the 1st set stairs had not been hoovered. Other than that great house and very well equipped.

Many thanks for your feedback, We are so pleased that you thought Leylands was a great property and you had a lovely holiday, although we were concerned to read that the property was not satisfactorily presented prior to your arrival. As you will appreciate, we work very hard with our owners and housekeepers to ensure high standards of cleanliness are maintained, so it is very disappointing to read these comments. Your feedback has been passed on to the housekeeper/cleaner. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused. We hope to welcome you back to the area in the near future. The property, which has been sympathetically renovated and furnished to a very high standard in recent years, has magnificent views of the harbour towards South Pool Creek and East Portlemouth, and is just a few minutes’ walk from the town centre and waterfront. Arranged over two floors, the property is well equipped with baby/child friendly facilities, and with multiple living areas, it is excellent for those with older children who may want their own space.

The open-plan kitchen/dining room is beautifully presented and equipped to a very high standard.

There is also a delightful lounge with picture bay window offering an excellent view of the estuary, as well as a cosy second sitting room with two large sofas and an additional TV.

Shower room on ground floor. There are four first floor bedrooms: A master with wonderful estuary views, a King-size double bed and en suite with shower; a twin room with two single beds, a further double with a 4'6" bed, and finally a child’s bedroom with a set of bunk beds (only suitable for under 12's).

In addition there is a recently renovated family bathroom on the first floor, and on the ground floor is a shower room.

To the rear of the house is a sloping garden and furnished sunny terrace, complete with a barbecue.

A parking pass is provided for one car in the nearby long-stay car park (3 minutes' walk).
