    House very clean and comfortable only comment would be still prefer shower screen to wet room not my favourite thing. Has beautiful views from this property, kitchen very well equipped, very comfortable home from home only very slight thing doors all need adjusting as they do not shut properly. Main problem is parking we did make a comment about the way this is advertised it is not made clear enough on the web site that there is no parking and the car park which you get a weekly permit for is at least 3/4 of a mile away so always a worry about leaving the car, also it was not made clear which CAR PARK you have to park in therefore we got a parking ticket as it is not clear on the permit issued we did appeal but unfortunately they refused and we have had to pay this so not very happy this is one thing you do not need on holiday. Coast and Country (Sykes) have said they will make this clearer in future but will have to wait and see if this gets done.

The property

Maxpoffle is a delightful, recently converted Victorian terraced house overlooking Courtenay Park and is within a few minutes walk of Salcombe town centre.

The reverse level accommodation is divided over two floors and benefits from some excellent views across the estuary. The ground floor entrance is accessed from Devon Road where the apartment opens into a hallway with oak flooring.

There is a cosy sitting room with a feature fireplace, large L-shaped sofa, armchair and wall-mounted TV/DVD player.

The light and airy, open plan kitchen/dining area features a central island, handmade granite worktops, induction hob, electric double oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and hi-fi with iPod dock.

A washing machine and tumble dryer are housed in an under stairs cupboard on the lower floor.

A glass-topped table and six chairs sit in front of large bay window where the delightful views across the estuary can be enjoyed whilst dining! Three bedrooms in total, all on the lower floor.

The Master bedroom has a King-size bed, fitted wardrobe and TV; enjoying access to the terrace via glazed sliding doors.

Door to fully tiled en suite wet room with shower, wash-hand basin, and w.c.

A second double room also has a King-size bed and TV.

The third bedroom has bunk beds and TV.

There is a fully tiled family bathroom on the lower floor with freestanding bath, hand-held shower, wash-hand basin, and w.c. A glazed door leads out to a sunny rear terrace with garden furniture, and a gate out to Courtenay Park.

Salcombe is a popular destination for walkers and families looking for a holiday by the sea and was once a major port. There are two pretty beaches within a short distance, North Sands and South Sands and further on is the National Trust property Overbeck’s where you can wander through the subtropical gardens. Why not have a more adventurous day and try out the watersports available on the estuary including surfing, kayaking or a more leisurely boat trip? Whilst staying in Salcombe you must take advantage of the locally sourced seafood which is served in many of the restaurants, pubs, cafés and delicatessens. The southern tip of Devon provides some spectacular scenery and picturesque vistas with a number of sandy beaches, lovely villages with thatched cottages and some fantastic opportunities for walking, including the South West Coast path.
