    “In this covid era the property was extremely clean.”


    The pluses; very clean; decent bedrooms; the kitchen (& Utility) was heading towards being dated but the facilities it had more than made up for that; the living area was superb, extremely comfortable, the best room in the property; the views from the balcony were why we booked this place and they did not disappoint; massive driveway. The minuses; it was a large property, if a little sparse when it came to decoration; it really needed a lick of paint because there were scuffs all over the place that superficially detract from how good it was; no wardrobe facilities in the double bedroom, it was locked meaning you had to put your gear in another bedroom; the bathrooms were very dated and really needed a layout rethink; the walk from the driveway was tough for fit people carrying gear, so be aware (it is stated could be difficult for people in the particulars). Location; it's position to the town centre is on the cusp of a strenuous walk for someone with physical impairment, but if you are fit and healthy it's a lovely walk in. Cracking walk with a fun cut through or two down to North Sands. Overall; great 70's property, lovely location and the views are the selling point.

Salcombe is a popular destination for walkers and families looking for a holiday by the sea and was once a major port. There are two pretty beaches within a short distance, North Sands and South Sands and further on is the National Trust property Overbeck’s where you can wander through the subtropical gardens. Why not have a more adventurous day and try out the watersports available on the estuary including surfing, kayaking or a more leisurely boat trip? Whilst staying in Salcombe you must take advantage of the locally sourced seafood which is served in many of the restaurants, pubs, cafés and delicatessens. The southern tip of Devon provides some spectacular scenery and picturesque vistas with a number of sandy beaches, lovely villages with thatched cottages and some fantastic opportunities for walking, including the South West Coast path.
