    The operating instructions for the immersion heaters was confusing(if not wrong!) The switch for the top immersion heater was taped off with an instruction not to use. The bottom immersion heater switch was "on", but it did not result in any hot water. This only became apparent when our guests commented at the end of the holiday that they and their children had cold showers/baths! 2. Our guests had a buggy, and it was not very convenient to access the property with it because of the number of flights of steps involved. 3. There was a power cut during our stay, and it proved impossible to access the property because of the coded electrical lock on the pedestrian access door. 4. Is there a mechanical override on the garage door to prevent cars being "trapped" during a power cut? 5. The property was very comfortable, and had plenty of outdoor space. It was very well equipped and to a high spec. It was therefore surprising there was no microwave. 6. The location was great, with easy access to the town centre. It was also a very convenient to have the Coop store co-located. I hope you find this feedback helpful.

Kingsbridge 7 miles; Dartmouth 21 miles; Plymouth 24 miles; Paignton 26 miles.

Salcombe is a popular destination for walkers and families looking for a holiday by the sea and was once a major port. There are two pretty beaches within a short distance, North Sands and South Sands and further on is the National Trust property Overbeck’s where you can wander through the subtropical gardens. Why not have a more adventurous day and try out the watersports available on the estuary including surfing, kayaking or a more leisurely boat trip? Whilst staying in Salcombe you must take advantage of the locally sourced seafood which is served in many of the restaurants, pubs, cafés and delicatessens. The southern tip of Devon provides some spectacular scenery and picturesque vistas with a number of sandy beaches, lovely villages with thatched cottages and some fantastic opportunities for walking, including the South West Coast path.
