Just a short walk away from Batson Creek, in a prime location to enjoy Salcombe’s boutique shops, bars, eateries and Batson estuary slipway, Island Place is an exclusive development newly built and completed in 2019.

A much-loved water sport destination with its popular sailing scene, this three-bedroom property is a mostly level walk away from all that the harbour town of Salcombe has to offer.

Saltstone, 3 Island Place, has a convenient private parking area with a turning circle on the ground floor, with steps that lead up to the first floor.

Access to the property is from the rear of the development through a private garden.

On summer days, relax outdoors and unwind on your private sun terrace.

Alternatively, sit back and lounge in the modern open plan kitchen, dining and living room, with beautiful floor-to-ceiling windows that bring the beauty of the outside in.

With stunning modern seaside interiors, this bright and airy property floods natural daylight.

Contemporary coastal living continues in the high specification kitchen and bathrooms. On the second floor is an idyllic, luxury master bedroom with en suite.

As you relax on your comfortable bed, you can marvel at the wonderful view towards the estuary.

In addition to this there is a family bathroom, drying room and two further double bedrooms (one with a zip link bed for flexibility of a Super-king bed or 2 singles) towards the rear of the property.

    “Cleaning let the property down.”

I’d describe the cleaning as superficial. First impressions are clean but when you settle in you notice the more hidden areas that haven’t been cleaned for sometime. Behind and under the sofas/tv area were filthy, around the door handles were dirty, the kitchen cupboards were greasy to touch in places and the cutlery draw tray was grubby. Inside the wardrobes were dusty, around and under the bathroom cabinets were hairs. The sofa covers need a good wash. ...

With COVID lockdown having recently prohibited overnight stays for nearly 6months there was plenty of time for the property to be deep cleaned! With COVID Sykes and coast country have made changes to how you are expected to leave the property, with the COVID pandemic the least you expect in return is that it’s cleaned properly before you arrive. The location of the property and amenities within the property are however superb. North sands beach is lovely (when the tide is out and sun is shining). Local crab shed restaurant is delicious!

Many thanks for your feedback, although we were concerned to read that the property was not satisfactorily presented prior to your arrival. As you will appreciate, we work very hard with our owners and housekeepers to ensure high standards of cleanliness are maintained, so it is very disappointing to read these comments. Your feedback has been passed on to the housekeeper/cleaner concerned. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused. We do hope that you had an enjoyable holiday in spite of the issues raised and look forward to welcoming you back to Salcombe in the not too distant future. - Sykes owner relations
