    We'll stocked, convenient for the town, very comfortable. A regular home from home. Pity the two car parking spaces outside the house aren't reserved but we managed well enough.

The property

This charming semi-detached cottage is set over three floors and located in a quiet, residential area of Salcombe.

Furnished to a high standard and offering stunning estuary views, Sandpiper is perfect for a family or group of friends looking for a seaside break.

The seaside-themed sitting room is a lovely spot for relaxing with loved ones.

The large bay window affords an estuary view, so even indoors you’ll be able to make the most of being by the sea.

The sitting room leads into a smaller snug with TV, which is ideal for children, ensuring that everyone has their own space. The large kitchen/diner is the jewel in Sandpiper’s crown with all the mod-cons you’ll need to rustle up delicious meals.

The dining table can seat eight guests comfortably so you chat over the dinner table and spend real, quality time together.

Huge folding doors let sunlight stream into the room with a lovely aspect overlooking the garden. Downstairs, you also benefit from a utility room - perfect for storing buckets and spades- and a cloakroom with WC. Take your pick of one of four picture-perfect bedrooms.

The first floor master bedroom looks out over the estuary and has its own en-suite with a luxurious rainfall shower.

Another two bedrooms can be found on this floor with more wonderful views.

Over the top floor, you’ll find a nautical-themed twin bedroom with en-suite and the best views in the house. There’s no need to queue for the shower here!

There’s a separate family bathroom on the first floor.

Outside, enjoy your own terrace with barbeque and sunny, sloping garden.

Imagine spending late summer’s evenings here as the sun goes down.

The centre of Salcombe, with its array of boutique shops, waterside pubs and restaurants is just a short walk downhill.

From here you can hire a boat, visit various beaches along the coastline, or blow away the cobwebs walking the South West Coast Path. Sandpipers is the perfect base from which to explore this stunning part of the Devon coast.

Salcombe is a popular destination for walkers and families looking for a holiday by the sea and was once a major port. There are two pretty beaches within a short distance, North Sands and South Sands and further on is the National Trust property Overbeck’s where you can wander through the subtropical gardens. Why not have a more adventurous day and try out the watersports available on the estuary including surfing, kayaking or a more leisurely boat trip? Whilst staying in Salcombe you must take advantage of the locally sourced seafood which is served in many of the restaurants, pubs, cafés and delicatessens. The southern tip of Devon provides some spectacular scenery and picturesque vistas with a number of sandy beaches, lovely villages with thatched cottages and some fantastic opportunities for walking, including the South West Coast path.
