“Soundings is a beautiful property, sat high up on Raleigh Road an easy walk to town, downhill but a bit of a climb back up the hill.”

A really lovely home, well equipped for a very comfortable stay in Salcombe. Lovely luxurious bedding and beds, clean towels, beautiful bathrooms and lovely and warm. Some honest feedback; The house (especially kitchen) could do with a good deep clean. We had to get the cleaners back to re clean the kitchen floors and bathroom floors, but that was dealt with promptly. The cutlery was not clean, we had to put it all through the dishwasher due to finding numerous dirty forks and spoons. The kitchen units were sticky and had lots of fingermarks, especially around the dishwasher, bin area, cooker area and fridge area. There are no cleaning products, no bin bags and no cleaning cloths in Soundings, and the cleaner did not have any, so we popped out and brought our own. The carpets throughout the house are stained in places and these could also do with a good clean. There is only parking for one small car (the description on the property says two medium sized cars). The drive fits one golf type car and the garage is locked (rented out to Salcombe Trading) so no ability to park in the garage, so we are not quite sure where the two medium parking spaces are. The instructions in the house state that the garage keys are in the kitchen but the key has obviously been removed ! Parking on the road is limited and not easily available, so bear this in mind if you are visiting with a family of one car or more! The patio furniture was very dirty, full of seagull mess, so we cleaned that too! That said we had a fantastic holiday in Salcombe and a lovely stay in Soundings. Salcombe was exceptionally busy though, with very limited tables in restaurants and pubs - so book before you go! Soundings is excellent and a really good base for Salcombe/Kingsbridge/Dartmouth. This is our 10th consecutive year in Salcombe - and we will continue to visit as its one of our favourite places to go in June/September.
