  • "We had a wonderful time, loved the house, a couple of things , only 1 roll of toilet paper for four people over 3 days."

TV in the bedroom not there and in August 23 had been reported. Would be best to tell customers beforehand. No bags for bin in kitchen. But we would come again as we all had a great stay.

Excellent location, parking was good. It was clean, tidy. Maybe some information on local places eat and drink, would be nice. We.did go in winter and was aware that places would be closed; however we were pleasantly surprised to find pubs were open.

  • "We love st Leonard’s!"

It is the fifth time we rent it out for summer holidays in Salcombe, and it is very well kept . The garden is much better tended than before and it is a lovely quiet spot. Right in the centre of Salcombe means we get anywhere by walking. Excellent address, just difficult to book for summer if not anticipated a year before, which is a challenge not knowing when we can take holidays.

  • "Good location, could do with some TLC, Dinner plates and tea plates need replacing badly."

Downstairs smells musty and damp, with a fair amount of cobwebs, could do with a good spring clean. Upstairs bathroom clean & bed comfortable but front bedroom curtains difficult to close, pole not suitable for curtain rings. Hot water temperature set too high, could scald someone vulnerable. Some of these comments were written ion the comments book by previous occupants some time back.

Utensils/pans/crockery need replacing and property needs updating/decorating. Ornaments dusty. Beds comfortable. Not too far to walk to pubs etc.

and front as well as the small park opposite with beautiful panoramic views. Ideal access to Salcombe town. Tastefully decorated with most of what we needed. We could have done with a few more wine glasses and small tumblers in order to use the dishwsher efficiently. T.V. not working in the bedroom, but was reported to agent in Salcombe. (Not fixed whilst we were there) Stairs quite steep with short tread so would benefit from both hand rails starting at the top. Would book again/recommend

Every thing that you need has been thought about and provided. Bed really comfortable and the whole accommodation is spotless. Parking a stone's throw away is a massive bonus. A short walk from the harbour, shops and pubs. We really had a lovely week.

  • "The only thing that lets the property down is the bathroom."

Narrow bath, taps in the middle stick out to much very difficult to climb in ( No grab rail) And with a small curtain rail its difficult even to shower. However the positives far outweigh this negative which makes us return year after year

  • "The only negative comments are."

We were concerned by the amount of commercial vehicles having to make numerous shunts to negotiate to turn to access the coop and construction vehicles serving work in the boat park. The only other issue is the front door is extremely difficult to open and close.

The steepness of the stairs to the playroom should also be noted as it is dangerous

Thank you for your review and highlighting the maintenance issue, which we have attended to and rectified. We have also updated the property description to advise that the steps to the playroom are steep. We hope that you enjoyed your time in Salcombe and at St Leonards, and look forward to welcoming you back soon. Property Owner

  • "Really lovely little cottage!"

The ideal location for getting into the centre of Salcombe easily (less than 5min walk down hill into town). The kitchen was really well equipped! Garden was lovely and private. Only slight niggle would be there is only 1 loo (4 of us stayed there for the week) and the front bedroom is quite noisy in the mornings with lots of cars travelling past.

  • "Excellent cottage, very accessible to town and parking a bonus."

Excellent facilities. Everything fine apart from cooker which had no manual, the control marks had worn away and the burners needed to be lit by a match. Also shower curtain could be replaced But all in all, an excellent place to stay.

Many thanks for your lovely feedback. We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay at the cottage. Thank you for highlighting the issue with the cooker. We have passed this onto the owner, who has now order a new one and that has already been delivered to the property. We do hope we can welcome you back to the area soon. Property Owner

.. parking is invaluable in Salcombe! A little dusty ... suspect no-one has stayed for a while (it is out of season) and I'd have hoped the cleaners would have given it a quick dust/wipe down. But all in all, would highly recommend.

Thank you for taking the time to let us know how much you enjoyed your stay at St Leonards. We apologise that the property was a little dusty; this has been raised with our housekeepers to ensure the property continues to meet the high standards we expect from all of our properties. A thorough clean will be carried out prior to the next guests' stay. We hope to welcome you back to the area soon. Property Owner

  • "St Leonards cottage is tastefully decorated and furnished - roomy on the ground floor."

However a steep staircase and "tricky" landing access the two very small bedrooms, bathroom and beyond via more steep stairs. The shower arrangement is frankly laughable. Vacating the property by 10 a.m. is nowadays archaic and to be asked politely by the owner via a note to strip the beds to assist the cleaner is a bit much! We loved Salcombe but because of the shower and staircase would not want to stay in this property again. We feel the staircase issue should be noted on the property description.
