    “The property had a lot of stairs as it was 4 stories high, we were fine but had we have taken other friends they may have found it difficult.”

    Maybe it’s worth a mention. 43 steps from top to bottom. You inform your clients if a property is child friendly or dog friendly so if it’s not going to be easy for people with mobility problems it could be pointed out politely. Or maybe you already do and I wasn’t aware of it.

The property

A large, detached house in an elevated position, overlooking the Salcombe estuary towards the beaches of East Portlemouth and Millbay.

The bright and welcoming property is well-equipped and finished to a high standard throughout.

Featuring four good sized bedrooms, Startline House is ideally suited for families or a group of friends who wish to explore this beautiful part of the country.

The entrance to the house is via a porch situated on the third floor of the property.

Accessible from the nearby off-road parking, the porch features ample space for you to store your coats, walking boots and beach equipment.

From here, a second door leads into a spacious hallway, which is also used as a dining area.

The table comfortably sits eight people and the room boasts beautiful views of the estuary. Adjacent to the dining area, you will find the kitchen.

Well-equipped, the kitchen includes plenty of fitted units and ample amenities including a breakfast dining area, an electric double oven and a dishwasher.

There is also a useful utility room with washing facilities as well as a separate WC and basin.

As you head upstairs to the fourth floor, you reach a very spacious lounge with beautiful exposed beams and a decorative woodburning stove.

The bright room features two sets of large sliding French doors, which lead out onto a magnificent balcony showcasing fantastic 180-degree views across the estuary.

The four bedrooms are split between the first floor and ground level.

Whether you opt for the king-size wooden sleigh bed or prefer a private balcony, each room has something special and of course a superb view for you to wake up to.

The balcony off the lounge runs the whole width of the house and just off the lower ground floor level, there is another large area of decking with a BBQ for you to use.

Salcombe is a popular destination for walkers and families looking for a holiday by the sea and was once a major port. There are two pretty beaches within a short distance, North Sands and South Sands and further on is the National Trust property Overbeck’s where you can wander through the subtropical gardens. Why not have a more adventurous day and try out the watersports available on the estuary including surfing, kayaking or a more leisurely boat trip? Whilst staying in Salcombe you must take advantage of the locally sourced seafood which is served in many of the restaurants, pubs, cafés and delicatessens. The southern tip of Devon provides some spectacular scenery and picturesque vistas with a number of sandy beaches, lovely villages with thatched cottages and some fantastic opportunities for walking, including the South West Coast path.
