Although it might appear a minor thing, we were so pleased that you had just replaced the shower curtain …the damp fusty smell had gone completely and it made a big difference to our week there!…thank you for listening to our last review guys! Oh and the sun shone all week…amazing. Will be back for sure.

  • "Had a problem finding the flat."

When approached from the back to find the car park, the house name plate was hidden in a flower bed below the level where you could see it from the road. How daft is that? We found the electric wall heaters seemed to cause dust that made us cough; that is why we came home a day early. Location of the flat is good with superb views of the estuary but it is a steep climb up from Salcombe. Decoration is a bit dated.

Many thanks for leaving us your feedback. We were terribly sorry to read that you had some issues during your stay. Thank you for highlighting the inoperative sign, we have passed this onto our maintenance team and requested for this to be fitted to a suitable place. We have also requested for the instructions to find the property be updated for future bookings. We hope that despite these issues you were able to enjoy your visit to Salcombe and its stunning views. Property Owner

  • "As this was our 4th stay at Sunrise and a 5th is already booked, it might sound odd that we have a very minor issue."

.. We understand that the bathroom has no external ventilation and sympathise that this makes it awkward to keep the room fresh. There was no problem with the level of cleaning by your guys but we could constantly smell the fusty shower curtain all week. We feel that for a small expense this needs regular replacement...or indeed a proper screen which would prevent this issue. That apart we loved every minute of our latest stay here and as mentioned above we are already booked in again next year...thank you for your understanding.

Welcome back! Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback. We were really pleased to read that your visit to Sunrise was lovely. We have passed on to the housekeeping team your praise for the property’s presentation and cleanliness who are very appreciative. Thank you for highlighting the shower curtain issue, we will pass this onto the owner. We very much look forward to welcoming you back very soon! Property Owner

The listing was actually spot on the place was very clean and every thing we need was there there is more in the apartment then is stated , our stay was peaceful with no issues at all very clean and tidy no smell of damp at all as stated in other reviews, credit to the owners for how clean it is we will definitely be booking again

Thank you very much for leaving us your feedback. We are so pleased that your visit here to Sunrise was everything you expected. • "Location - super view from the 'apartment' - with a small terrace for outdoor sitting."

Nice patio pots of colourful flowers. Indoors - fine for our needs - not sure what it would be like if weather not good. We had super weather all week so out and about all the time. Bed and chairs not super comfy but OK. Access - Warnings of steep gradients and steep hills and steps are accurate - Salcombe is not an accessible place so be warned! Slopes from parking to property are seriously steep. Consumables - no welcome pack and only one toilet roll (poor quality) so bring your own as well as kitchen roll, foil and cling film and kitchen hand towel. There was salt and pepper and cooking oil. In addition - No recycling facilities at property - we brought ours home. A new rubbish bin was delivered whilst we we there and it is outside behind kitchen wall. There are issues with South Hams LA over recycling and refuse collecting. The owner has arranged a private collection... There is a hairdryer - we were told there wasn't and also there is adequate hanging space and hangers for clothes. Sorry this is rather long winded but good to have the knowledge before booking!

  • "Melbury has a fantastic view ."

We enjoyed sitting outside having breakfast and looking down over Salcombe. 15 minute walk to the harbour down a steep hill. Shame there weren’t more photos of the inside of the property as it was actually better equipped than we had anticipated. Ample space for a couple but would be a real squash to have a third person. Unfortunately the kitchen hadn’t been very well cleaned and there was a bad milk spillage in the fridge and the floor was still wet and slippery when we arrived . There is a bad smell of damp throughout the accommodation and by the end of the week our clothes were starting to feel rather damp. That said, Melbury is a good base to explore Salcombe . We had a wonderful week walking the coast line and discovering unspoilt beaches along the way. Had a fantastic meal at the Crab Shed. Communication from Sykes was poor. We had no idea of the address of the accommodation even up to the day of our arrival, and no idea where to collect the keys from! We spent a large part of our journey on the phone waiting to speak to someone at Sykes to try and find out this information. Once in Salcombe however, Coast and Country cottages, were very helpful .

Thank you for your feedback on your recent holiday. I’m sorry to hear that the cleanliness of the kitchen wasn’t quite up to standard; we will pass your comments onto the housekeeping team. Sunrise is built into the rock and as such can get a musty smell; however, the owners of the property have put in measures to reduce this as much as possible. I can see that the communications which contain the travel directions were sent to you in advance, but they can go straight into junk inboxes as they carry attachments, although please accept our apologies for the difficulties getting in contact with us. We’re so glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay in Salcombe and we hope to welcome you back to the area soon. Property Owner

  • "When we arrive i was pleasantly surprise about the cleanliness of the place."

After sometime the old like damp smell makes me concessions as i was there with my son. Also the place is small they keep there this huge uncomfortable chairs. I felt i am not Covid 19 save to sit on them as you cant clean them properly, they are upholstery. The view is incredible and i wish i can see more trough those trees. As we did not spent lot of time inside the house it suite to our holiday needs.

Thank you for your feedback on your recent stay. We’re so glad to hear that the property was nice and clean for your arrival. Whilst there is no damp in the property, Sunrise is built into the rock, so it can get a musty smell. The owners are constantly looking at ways to improve this so we’re sorry to hear that this affected your stay. We hope that despite this, you were able to enjoy your stay in Salcombe and we hope to welcome you back to the area soon. Property Owner
