  • "A fabulous stay in Salcombe as always!"

  • "Spacious downstairs with great views."

Really good location for shops, pubs and restaurants. Only negatives, the second double bedroom was a little small and the wooden stairs were a little steep for very young children. We had a plumbing issue but Skyes rectified very quickly, would definitely come back to Salcombe and would use Sykes again.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback. We were delighted to read that you enjoyed your stay here at The Court House. We were pleased that our Salcombe office were able to rectify the plumbing issue and hope that this didn’t impact your holiday too greatly. We very much look forward to welcoming you back to Salcombe soon! Property Owner

  • "The house in some aspects was very disappointing."

It hadn’t been cleaned properly - seeing houses are having to be cleaned throughly due to the current situation - this was certainly not the case! The beds were very uncomfortable and when looking at them closer they were disgusting! Upstairs the house felt very damp! Great location but would not book this property again!!!

Many thanks for leaving us your feedback. We were terribly sorry to read that both the presentation and cleanliness of the property upon your arrival was unsatisfactory. We understand how disappointing this must have been for you. We have passed this onto the housekeeping team and would like to apologise on their behalf. Please be assured that should you have contacted our Salcombe office during your stay, we would have arranged for the property to be recleaned. We are sorry for any inconvenience this must have called and hope that despite this your visit to Salcombe wasn’t spoilt! Property Owner

  • "Loved our stay at the Court House, an unexpected late booking, due to the French quarantine being announced, and we couldn’t have been happier than here."

The house is lovely and airy with great views over the harbour, the space is well thought out with nice size rooms. We loved the deck outside but equally enjoyed eating in the dining area that also overlooked the harbour, and it is very central to all the shops and Whitestrands Thanks for sharing this beautiful property with us, we’ll definitely be back!

Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback. We were so pleased to read that you couldn’t have been happier with you visit to The Court House. The weather has been beautiful this week and so it is wonderful that you have been able to enjoy the decking overlooking the harbour. We very much look forward to welcoming you back to this beautiful property sometime soon! Property Owner

  • "We were quite disappointed as we had no central heating and the hot water was intermittent."

For a property for 7 people there was very little in the way of glasses etc and what was there was chipped. A lot of the crockery was dirty and needed washing before it could be used. On arrival we were expecting the place to be decorated for Christmas as per a phone call I had from C&C but it wasn’t, this was resolved after a few days. I did send several emails to C&C regarding the boiler issue but have yet to receive a reply

    - There is a damp patch behind a chest of drawers in the room with the bunk-bed - would advise this gets seen to as it will only get worse - The property would benefit from a larger (or second small) fridge - not enough room for food for six adults for a week

  • "Stayed here a number of times, great location & lovely house but property now needing some TLC."

Majority of beds very uncomfortable & cleanliness of property was not up to scratch looked like it had just been given a quick sweep over ( used bar of soap left in main bathroom / shower area ) no longer the luxury 5 star accommodation it used to be, still had a lovely week here & didn’t spoil our holiday.

We are so pleased we could welcome you back to The Court House, but disappointed to hear that on this occasion the property was not satisfactorily presented. If this had been reported on arrival we could have arranged the housekeeping team to re-attend and rectify the issues you mentioned. We have discussed your comments with the cleaner and property checker, as well as the Owner, and will endeavour to ensure we are reaching and maintaining our usual high standards. We were pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay and hope that you will come back to Salcombe and the Court House in the near future. Property Owner

  • "You promote the Court Hs."

as a “luxurious property”. The house has potential to be a luxury experience but this is not realised. The Court Hs. has a good layout and the location and views are great, but niggles let it down. We used three of the four bedrooms and two of the three beds were very uncomfortable. This is not a subjective comment. We hire cottages in this price range regularly and these beds are not up to standard. The lounge seating, for 5 adults and two kids, is far from luxurious too. Details like the broken fridge door bottle holder and the taped up TV control detract from the feeling of quality. On the whole our party had a really good holiday in a place that we love. We enjoyed the house in the main but it could be better.

  • "The Courthouse is a fantastic property / a superb layout."

Unfortunately the cleanliness of it let it down- for the price we paid one should expect a clean well presented property. On arrival we reported our disappointment in the state of the outside area which was filthy. It had weeds and birds mess everywhere - so bad we couldn’t have sat outside. The young man who came to check the property apologised and said he get someone round to attend. On the Tuesday we went out for the day and returned to find no one had been. I emailed and called the number for the salcombe office who dealt with it the same day. We returned to find a nice clean outside area. We also reported the shower was broken - this was dealt with also. The response to our complaint was dealt with which was good but we shouldn’t have had to report something so obvious. The external cleanliness should be part of the preparation for any new guest staying. The general cleanliness was poor with dusty skirting boards and a huge cobweb in the main bathroom. We didn’t allow this to spoil our stay as the accommodation was great - but it was disappointing.

  • "Great location and plenty of space within the property for entertaining a large group of people (we were 11 people staying at a couple of properties)."

Property is beginning to look a little tired in places (paint peeling off one wall, kitchen cupboards beginning to come apart). Nothing significant to impact staying there but the first time in a while that a number of our party commented on the same.

  • "Beautiful and spacious but beginning to be a bit tired e."

    G. The crockery drawer was hard to open, one of the cane chairs had a broken leg and we couldn't get the fire to work. Couldn't find instructions for the oven so slightly incinerated our roast chicken! Website blurb said there was a CD/hifi so brought CDs but couldn't play them - loved the radio in the kitchen however. Had Glenthorne House's info on alarms in the info book and the smaller of the two puzzles (500 pieces I think) had 7 pieces missing!

  • "Loved the property and felt so relaxed and at home here."

Only concern was that house was only superficially clean. A deep clean prior to the busy season (cupboards etc.) would have been nice. This didn't really affect the enjoyment of our property though and it didn't take long to spruce it up a bit.
