  • "Lovely warm and spacious apartment, amazing estuary view, which we never tired of whatever the weather."

    Plenty of sunshine all day until about 4.30pm in late September, with enough room on the balcony area to either relax in the two recliners or switch to the small table to eat. Toilet roll holders and hooks in the bathrooms would be highly appreciated. Lovely local team, Charlie in particular. Extremely clean; we really valued the lack of clutter and personal belongings, which meant that as a mature couple staying on our own we could simply enjoy our week’s holiday in a calm and ‘neutral’ space. Parking is literally outside the front door and there is ample room for a large car.

  • "The holiday was brilliant and The Loft was glorious."

    We loved it. The only problem was we were told the parking space would be marked No 4. The other apartments were numbered. There was a parking space outside The Loft but it said "no parking. CCTV in operation". After parking in the wrong place and being moved we eventually parked in the No Parking. Since it is right outside The Loft if would seem obvious it belonged to The Loft but it would be a very good idea to remove the No Parking and replace with "parking for The Loft"

  • "The view is totally glorious and a great location between Salcombe and North Sands."

    The living area is woefully uncomfortable and stark. Very uninviting in the evening once the view is gone. Needs softening with some more soft furnishings, lamps, rugs, side tables etc. Bedrooms are lovely and comfortable and feel like a hotel. My children are 3 and 5 so were fine in the single beds. They would have been terribly small and uncomfortable for anyone over the age of 12. It was appalling that we couldn’t access the property until 5pm. Out by 10am, in at 5pm - it’s a purpose built two bedroom flat so this feels totally unreasonable in terms of cleaning time.

This is stated as a warning on the website when making your booking so all guests are aware at the time of booking. The reason it is a slightly later check in than normal is that the apartment gets fogged after every departure, this can take some time but maintains the highest standard of COVID cleaning, ensuring the continued safety of our guests. We are also grateful for the comment in respect of the overall appearance of the property and will pass on your feedback to the owners.     Beds very comfortable unlike the lounge settees which were not!

  • "What a fabulous place!"

    Very well equipped and brand new. The view was amazing. The beds were very comfy. The weather was so lovely for November and the apartment was warm, the heating was easy to work. Lovely touch leaving milk, biscuits, tea, coffee fairy, bubble bath etc.... Enjoyed cooking while watching the fishing boats go by! Loved the lobby to leave all the coats and shoes in. Fab parking to make unloading the car easy. Good location for shopping and walking. Would love to book this place again and highly recommend it. Thank you x

About the location

SALCOMBE

Kingsbridge 7 miles; Dartmouth 21 miles; Plymouth 24 miles; Paignton 26 miles.

Salcombe is a popular destination for walkers and families looking for a holiday by the sea and was once a major port. There are two pretty beaches within a short distance, North Sands and South Sands and further on is the National Trust property Overbeck’s where you can wander through the subtropical gardens. Why not have a more adventurous day and try out the watersports available on the estuary including surfing, kayaking or a more leisurely boat trip? Whilst staying in Salcombe you must take advantage of the locally sourced seafood which is served in many of the restaurants, pubs, cafés and delicatessens. The southern tip of Devon provides some spectacular scenery and picturesque vistas with a number of sandy beaches, lovely villages with thatched cottages and some fantastic opportunities for walking, including the South West Coast path.
